He doesn't immediately see any way of opening the door and moves closer for a better view, causing the door to shoot open. "Oh, automatic. Neat." Jet walks into a dusty room about half the size of one of the combat testing chambers and in the shape of a large rounded rectangle. "Now, what to loot, what to loot... hm." Most of the room is taken up by sets of chairs, desks, and keyboards. The walls are filled with huge screens that all show identical images: a dark blue gradient background with a logo in the center, a line of large Japanese characters with the English caption "UTATAKU RESEARCH FACILITY" in smaller type underneath. A small window is also present on each screen that reads, "TO UNLOCK SYSTEM INTERFACE, ENTER BIOMETRIC INFORMATION AT THE AUTHORIZATION TERMINAL." "Man, whatever happened to the good old days of usernames and passwords?" Jet mutters as he reads the screen. He shifts his attention to the center of the room and notices that there's a lower level- a small flight of stairs on either side of the room connects the upper half that Jet is standing on and a lower half roughly 6 feet below. "Maybe there's something interesting down there?" He heads down the flight of stairs closest to him and looks around. A sort of podium- what he assumes to be the authorization terminal- is at the very back of the lower level. The rest of it is much the same as the upper level: desks, chairs, keyboards, and small desktop screens. "Nope. Nothing interesting here. John looks around the armory, deciding that now that he has plenty of firepower, some personal protection might be prudent. Unfortunately, with the bots being metal, there isn't anything like a Kevlar or ceramic armor vest laying around that John could use. All of the prototype Guardian shields are way too huge for human use, too. Deciding to check the second armory just in case, John's eye is drawn to a sort of armor vest in one of the lockers- evidently, an earlier prototype of the Brute had attachable exterior armor instead of integrated plating. The vest is big enough to cover all of John's torso up to his neck, his arms down to just above his elbows, and his legs down to just above his kneecaps. Of course, being designed for a battle robot, it is considerably heavy- the inside is lined with a thick cotton-like substance, probably to prevent the very weighty steel exterior from scraping the bot's armor or getting stuck. "Jeez, this thing must weigh a hundred pounds at least." John tries it on and finds he can wear it, but the weight makes it difficult to move at anything quicker than a slow jog. Desks and computers are strewn throughout the room in orderly lines- it looks more like a typical office than a place capable of producing the weapons she and her allies had faced not long ago. "What the..." She turns to leave in disappointment when a door at the opposite wall catches her eye- a very solid steel door with a sign above it that simply reads EXPERIMENTAL ARMORY & FIRING RANGE. Hearing Aicaya asking for help some distance away, Jet walks back up the stairs and out of the Integrated Systems control room. He turns and goes towards where he heard Aicaya's voice, hanging a left at a corner and coming to an open door halfway down the corridor. Inside is something like an office- desks, chairs, computers- but at the back is a reinforced door with Aicaya standing next to it, a rock spike embedded in the center. "Yeah, that didn't work so great," she says as he takes notice of the huge stone. "You wanna give it a try?" "Sure thing. That metal should slice right open after a Torrent Cutter." Taking a stance a few feet away, Aicaya backs up a little as Jet charges the beam of water and fires it at the door. The steamy flood of liquid slams into the top-left of the door and Jet moves it down and to the right, hoping to make a clean cut. After some of the steam clears, there is a deep gouge visible in the door marking the path of Jet's Torrent Cutter, yet there is even more metal visible behind the scar. "Jeez. It must be half a foot thick." Aicaya's previously embedded Terra Spike crumbles, battered and shaken by the impact of the beam and missing its spear-like tip. The floor in front of the door is now littered with a pool of muddy water, while the door itself is still quite intact. "Someone called for help with a door?" John asks as he walks in. "Hold up, lemme try." Charging up two blades of wind, he slings them at the door and makes a perfect "X" in the center- right where Aicaya's spike had punched through and Jet's cutter sliced across. This final push after the two initial efforts results in a heavy *THUD* as a good chunk of the door is sent flying inside the locked room. Therrre isn't a door in that room? Other than the one door that's used to enter/exit, and that door automatically opens- it's kind of how you got into the room.
