Post Re: The Lounge
With the whole getting up too fast thing, I once totally blacked out from that. It was the only time I've gone unconscious not from sleep, I think, which made it a unique experience to me.
I was lying on the couch, watching "Survivor Man" with Dad. I got up to get a snack, felt dizzy and lost vision just a little, leaned on the doorway for a bit, and thought I was better. So I kept going, and took the few steps over to the cabinet, but when I got there, it got even worse. I leaned on it at first, but then vision totally went out and I was losing my sense of balance, so I tried holding the cabinet for support.
Next thing I know, I woke up on my back, head in the very opposite corner of the kitchen, with my brother and dad crouching down looking at me, not sure what happened.
Apparently, I stumbled across the kitchen, fell down, and smacked my head on the cabinet door. Luckily not on the gnarly brass handles, I assume, since my head only hurt a bit.

I used to get minor cases of it with some vision loss really frequently, but now, not so much. Maybe it's because I'm staying more hydrated, or because I'm lying down a lot less while awake.
My legs have been falling asleep while at the computer extra frequently lately though, to a point where I should probably get concerned if it continues.

Bad circulation (can be an early symptom of diabetes), lack of proper hydration and lack of exercise. That's what usually causes problems that. Mainly the bad circulation bit.

Post Re: The Lounge
My blood pressure has always been a little low, my caffeine intake has always been fairly high, and I've always been somewhat dehydrated. Well, "always" in this millennium, that is. Lately, I've abruptly stopped having caffeine and started being more hydrated, so maybe those usually healthy changes (cutting out soda and drinking enough water) are actually allowing my blood pressure to get problematically low, causing circulatory problems and thus frequently sleeping limbs? Not that I'm going to jump on this as an excuse to go back to chugging coke like it's water all day or anything, though.
Huh, now that I think about it, when I fainted, I think I was in a bit of a caffeine withdrawal, since I was drinking a lot of soda around then, but ran out and hadn't had any for a couple days. Interesting.

Only tangentially related, my thumb's been hurting lately, but I know that's from working on my new AK, so there's no medical mystery to solve there.

Back on the subject of dreams, I usually notice the things that are slightly off when I am in a dream, or even in a nightmare.

Then I start to unmake my dream and reform it in a way I like. Lucid dreaming is awesome.

I have not had a proper nightmare in years, but I do occasionaly get a dream, which ends up doing what I want. I will not let my dreams have control.

Good, the computer-gods don't get real sacrifices often enough.

"AK" refers to a wide range of rifles. Many of them, stateside especially, like mine, are semi auto only, and are not a "machine gun."
Mine's a Saiga IZ137, in .308. Here's a promotional for the same model from a different distributor. I'm gonna reconfigure it to be more like this, though. (note trigger, pistol grip, and magazine changes)
I think I'll pass on the address.

I hope you do. I really do.
Imagine me shooting a semi automatic rifle at Dauss' head!
