There still remains a lot that we could, share and improve in, but without feedback, like Joseph said, i'm not really going to bother writing anymore and the good stuff is yet to come. Still even though, I have better things to do that write on a topic that doesn't get feedback. Just tell us what you think.

It seems to me that your adding a lot to something that doesn't need a lot. Cortex Command's simple and vague backstory works well enough to provide motivation for the people who want it, but remains unobtrusive for people who just want to crab-bomb zombies (me). Seeing as how your just having fun, I guess it doesn't really matter how you add to the story.

I guess so. These stories are just here because Cortex Command is such a unique concept in game worlds and globally quite realistic, vs most games, but as for the future who knows... http://www.futuretimeline.net Sometimes I am glad to be in the 21st century, I get to see the old ways die, before technology... I get to have a glimpse of how life use to be and a glimpse of what life is turning into. Is it truly better? I doubt it, but I don't really care. I get to see the end of a series of eras, and get to have a peak at the beginnings of a new series of eras to come.

Well, I am making a story for the Ronin, that might end like: And now me and my brother fight for the freedom of the planet Midas... I'm going to make another story later, and it might make things go a little forward, you see? EDIT: As double-posts causes bans/warnings, I am going to edit this post
He is my brother?! No... I have to show him... Otherwise he will kill me! Come on... I need to get a body in here... Oh! There is a guy sleeping over there! Time to get into action! Okay... I need to 'aim' at him... let's go... Ah! Got it! Gotta stay normal so I don't make anything suspicious. Okay... Get up... Dafred! Can I talk to you for a minute? It's important. Sure, Brutus. What do you want? Look... It's not Brutus... It's me, your brother! What? Yes! It's me! I remembered all of it when you opened the video file! Brutus, what are you talking about? You found my brother?! No! It's not Brutus! I am the brain you captured! I am your brother, Dafred! What? How can I know that is true? I... I... don't know. I just know that you are my brother. I remembered. Please, trust me! What? Look, I don't know who you are, why are you saying that stuff, and I won't trust you. Mia! No! Please... Dafred! Look in my eyes... I... Am... Your... Brother! Dude, I won't hurt you. I won't kill you and nothing like that. I'm going to put you somewhere and make your brain go to a human body. That's what we, Ronin-- Ronin?! That name... That... It's... That is my name. What? How do you... What... Who are you?! Yes. That is my name. Ronin. Dafred, you are my brother. We were separated by the Goverstice so then we could serve to the clone war. The generals in the video, they were the assho*** who made the decision of disembodying me and giving you to the scientists! Ronin... Is it really you? I can't... I can't believe this! You gotta give me some answers... bro. That's the spirit, brother! Oh my God. I cant believe we have finally met after all those years! Damn, you have changed nothing! And you! You are... Time to solve that appearance of yours. No! Let me be the brain of your guys! I can boost their morale! But... You are right. I have a plan that might work pretty much well with that plan of yours. We want to make a hidden clone 'factory' at the cave near the forest. Well, there are already some 'zombie' clone-makers there. Really? Then we better hurry. The Coalition must be on their way! When we get those tubes, we can make clones of me, Brutus, Mia and everyone else. That way we can make an army, and you will be our controller! That's brilliant! Now... Could you please return to bed and switch back to your body? I saw you 'waking up' there. It was a little weird... Yeah... I have to do some more training with the bodies. We will talk later. Sure bro. It was very good to meet ya. I'm going to put you on a special room! Thanks dude! Their plan failed, the Coalition could defend themselves. But, Dafred, knowing the Coalition had destroyed the cloning tubes, went back there and retrieved all of the clone tubes parts. The only thing left is a Control Chip that Dimitri will make and their cloning will be complete, and then Ronin and his/Dafred's army will free Midas from all the Coalition!
Well, that was the end of the story. It makes me a little more okay with ordering multiple Dafred's in-game... Anyway, I'm thinking of making the Coalition story now. What do you guys think? And you, Jason, do you want to make it, or can I make it?

Sorry for the late reply, your Ronin series was great and I'm sure you'll do the same with the coalition. I've been busy lately but will finnish the dummies and also add some text to do with the forming of the coalition and what their intentions and identity are. Your free to write about anything you want.

Re: THE STORY of Cortex Command
I'm just too tired. Maybe tomorrow... or the day after tomorrow... I just have so many things to do and writing a story for the game makes me tired. There are too many people here at my house and if I do something that takes too long to do they will eventually get me off the computer. I will do when everyone is out.
Ronin have a canonical backstory, not much, but who the ♥♥♥♥ really cares, it's some really old ♥♥♥♥, on top of yet older ♥♥♥♥.
[tl;dr, ronin are a minor faction that is primarily against the tradestar corporation-I think-but are definitely against the colonization, and degradation of new planets as a sort of neo-liberal crime squad. Again, they are minor items, and from what little is hinted of the old plot in the recent builds, is that there is an overarching mystic to that abandoned bunker in Exploration, not that it really matters anymore, but because I am silly, I'm going to say that it relates to the old story. For al intents and purposes is, "All the prospectors from space that come to mine on the planet are systematically harassed and destroyed by an unknown agent other than the ronin, or other competitors, for strange reasons they may buy into using the Tradestar to exact their plans, destroying all intruders, but ultimately the planet seems to be a no-zone for all miner/explorer/etc. activity, the perpetrators are untraceable, and are seemingly omnipotent in regards to how effective they are at subterfuge, sabotage, and so on. It is later discovered in the game that there ... blah blah ... aliens, old explorers ... blah blah, intergalactic federations ... blah unlockables/"research", special relics blah ... the moon is the main base of these ♥♥♥♥ with a satisfactory end game battle against a hegemontic wet ware installation deep within the moon, while being sieged by unending armies and hordes of culled clones, skeletons, and robots."]
So which story over the top?

Re: THE STORY of Cortex Command
As long as this topic isn't dead yet, and i have nothing better to do, story time.
It's not exactly true what they say about clones not haveing brains, if we didn't, we couldn't fight, or do anything at all without a brain controlling us. Sure, it's basic, but some of us managed to have thoughts, and talk, just like the old days of war. And some of us, me for example, even read books out of the old, war torn citys that they tried to make here. And so, with this in mind, I'll tell you one of my stories.
The drop ship wasen't exactly comfortable, and it wasen't even very heavily armored, we don't have any craft in this sector, so we resort to useing standard Free Trade dropships. The hatch opened, and we jumped out, ready to take on whatever awaits us below. Most of us survived the jump, but someone, who was injured, didn't toggle his jet pack in time and he lost a leg. The Brain's orders were clear, as if it were thoughts inside my own, and it probably was. We were to head over to that coalition outpost, and hold it until we were relived.
Unfortunately, those orange horrors beat us to it. There was two of those 4 legged tanks they called dreadnaughts guarding the outpost. Luckily, i had a sniper, i could pick it off, but what if it sees me? It wouldn't matter anyway, two of my dropship buddys ran towards the dreadnaught, and shot off it's armor, yet the dreadnaught took one of them with it's armor. The other trooper shot the rest of the thing off, reduceing the dreadnaught to a little, orange, robotic crab. i took the honers, and steped on the thing. The other dreadnaught came over, and i quickly aimed at it's crab-ish legs While my friend shot at it's armored turret, i shot at the center of the legs, and i was right, the thing fell over, and ceased to work. The rest of my buddys came over and we took out most of the dummy outside of the outpost.
The door was on lock down, so we couldn't just open it The man who got torn up by the dreadnaught was the one with the breaching charges, and i went over to grab them. When i was searching his body, i heard engines, probably dropships or rockets i looked up, and saw that they were free trade. Could it be reinforcements? i continued my search, and got the charges, just when i heard a gunshot whiz by my ear. Ronin!. Before thinking of what they were doing here, i shot my attacker, luckily in the head, i ran over to the outpost, and prepared to set the charges, while i told my team to cover me.Suddenly, the brain gave new orders. " Clones 02 threw 04, eliminate the ronins." My number was 5, so i continued setting the charges, while the 3 clones went over and battled the ronins.
When the door finally blew, the rest of us stormed in. i was covering behind, and noticed more dropships, and they didn't seem to be friendly. But i had an idea, i aimed my sniper at one of the dropships engines, and shot. it managed to combust the engine, sending the dropship into a death roll, smashing into some ronin. After that, i went inside. My buddys told me the outpost was clear, and some of them saw my act and congratulated me on such an achievement. The outpost was part underground, and was about 3 stories tall. 4, if you count the underground part. And so, we began to hold the outpost, however, the brain gave us yet another order. " We are quite low on reinforcements, so clones 01, and 05 threw 08, your on your own. Hold the outpost, it may take a week for reinforcements to arrive."So, on that, i decided to write a log of events while holding the outpost. This, is the first part.
Edit, made it easier to read.

Re: THE STORY of Cortex Command
Blarfgh conflicting stories from multiple periods in time and space! I woudl write something but im more confused then a mining AI right now...
What's it been, a month of fighting? 4 long weeks. Hell. Feels like several years. I guess the same old shooting and running and dying wears its charm out a little. A little reprieve is just what I needed. Didn't expect for my rest to be done in a hospital, though, with both legs gone almost clean at the hip. Doc told me the med robots found my body out in the field slumped in the corner of the first level of a bunker my squad was supposed to take. Everyone else was just paste. You could've sent them into space in soup cans. I guess some would say I'm lucky to be alive. Lucky enough to be crippled, instead of nearly instantly pulverized by that damn mine. Maybe they'll stabilize me enough for me to get back into the field. I don't think it's going to happen, though. It's been a month of fighting, and I'm nearly killed on my first combat mission. I didn't get to pull the trigger of my gun once outside of the range.

Yes! I've inspired more stories, what more could I possibly want, except the Imperatus, can't wait for CC 1.0.
