The only 'free' ways to get gold are either through promotional codes or clan wars.

Certain territories generate gold that your clan leader can hand out as they please, but clan wars are pretty much all super tiers shooting special ammo types you have to pay for, so it's basically all spent on gold ammo anyways.

And yeah don't even aim for Clanwars it sucks, the only nice thing about it is free gold, but all the major clans already have the whole worldmap and getting a bit of it is extremely hard.

Tank company though that we might do, fixed teams (in brackets of tier 4(?), 6, 8 and 10), if you win you get dubble the Exp and creds if you lose you get close to nothing. Kinda like mini (and fun) clanwars.

I can't get to tier 4.

Honestly though, I think I am pretty damn bad at the game. Whenever I play, the round either turns into a sniper war, or, on urban maps where that can't happen, get rammed by a heavy from two metres away after my shells bounce off his view port.

Yeah. I've gone through hard grind after hard grind and just ♥♥♥♥ it.

I had to get the M3 Lee, which is such a shitty tank. I had to grind through pretty much being one shot killed almost every match, since you can't use cover in the Lee since the main gun in in the hull, and so behind cover, while you have a ♥♥♥♥ tower of uselessness sticking out.

After that, I had the Sherman. It was such a move up from the Lee, but in the end, it was still not a enjoyable vehicle. The armour is too thin, for my tastes.

I really don't see why people hate the lee THAT much, the armor is not THAT bad, i got hit a few times in one match without it doing any damage, and for cover just put a building on your left.

Then you are lucky.

People don't aim for the hull, they aim for the damn useless turrets. You also get lucky map rotations, I usually end up on damned farms or deserts with only hull high cover.

Also do you focus on a specific nation or two or do you collect lots at once? I'm trying to balance 1 or so of each, French tanks are proving disappointing so far

I'm trying to do one of each as well, I have an American M8A1 (td w/ a turret), Russian T-28, the free premium Stuart you get, and a French RenaultBS (spg). I don't have enough money for a German tank though.


They get better in the higher tiers, with less emphasis on armor and more on speed and firepower.

On a related note, I was playing with my French spg, and I OHKO a marder(?). Guy said I was using premium ammo, hah.

The only tanks in my garage are the lee and the m37 SPG. I got so much money I can't wait to unlock my next two.

I've been playing abit to much myself, as I said I have just about the whole german tree (exept the TD, but I can't stand TD's...).
About the french tree, I got the Batchat it's fine and all, but it's SUPER tricky to drive, as it does not forgive even the slightest misstake. The french "heavys" sucks up to far to high tier for me to care, got to ARL 44 which looks good on paper (stats) but is so god damn crap I can not even describe it, and I had 100% crew and rammer, GLD... Blech..

But french arty's seems intressting, I'll grind up that tree next I think or just save for the new German Medium tree (whenever that one comes around)

How'd you get the Panzer 4? It looks like you just spontaneously got it, I don't see a possible explanation.

Well, I'll tell why it looks funny, in 6.0 there were just one "middle"-german tree now there is two, so when the split happend some of my tanks were in the old tree and some in the new, and that leaves the nice line in the middle ^^

The same goes for VK3001(H), when it moved in the tree.


Also: for some good pointers and general waste of time watch this playlist, you really don't have to start from the beginning since that's pretty outdated (and loooong), but the tactics are still the same. The latest video came today and covers the new battle-modes "Encounter" and "Assault".
