 Multiplayer screen issue

Post Multiplayer screen issue
Hi me and my friend were trying to play cc split screen when we noticed it wasn't the standard horizontal screen the line dividing the two screens was vertical how would I go about changing this? (sorry for noob question)

There is a way, I don't know how, because my screen is splint vertically while my friend has it horizontally. Neither of us know how it happened.
