Re: The Techion Faction
They will definitely appear in the next version of Cortex Command. They currently have 6 weapons, two explosives, one tool, and one actor. We're planning on expanding things a bit from there. Stay tuned to the Data Realms Twitter feed -- you can see when we add stuff, and occasionally, screenshots will show up there.

Re: The Techion Faction
Slowly eating through anything is a good concept, but when terrain materials stronger than the metal of the bunkers are so rare, and the heavy digger cuts through even that faster,* there's little reason to use the techion digger.
*with some technique, moving the actor around so the particles inherit velocity and hit the ground faster

Re: The Techion Faction
I could increase its dig speed a bit. From any testing I did, though, it definitely beats the heavy digger out in terms of penetrating bunkers.

Re: The Techion Faction
I once made techion backstory before the factions turned to techs, if your a tech it means that every faction just hangs around there like companies and using them is like buying shares or franchises. So when they were still factions I said that they were an aggressive yet intelligent alien race invading the sector, commonly at war with the coalition ( the humans highest military order along with the 2 other most respected alien races in orion spur who had formed a coalition to ensure their power and control in the orion spur is certain, together with that they would obviously not find the techion a welcome sight as they invade their space) their intelligence can easily be seen by their most effective combat technology and ai driven humanoids. The imperutus, often taking worlds for their self at the cost of war with the coalition since they are a coalition of companies formed not out of certain alien races but out of major recourse companies including all who wish to profit from its planet cracking (type) operations, are there for also at war with the techion since this is bad for business. Also wrote about the dummies, ronin, browncoats and karak (an alien (warrior)race who as refugees aim to take core habitable planets in the orion spur sector to inhabit after a terrible disaster engulfed all of their home worlds) (they are already designed (concept art already exists of them, but its a very effective look and I wouldn't want to leak it out if it will be found unwelcome (most probable) (its not part of the original dev) )
Oh and space inheritly doesn't belong to anyone specific since its so large, that's why the techions can invade but freetrade will still sell to them since its just a more effective manner of taking worlds. But as I mentioned since its techs, that means that it has to be local factions that are available to be used to gather funds for yourself like a franchise. Also have back story for mu-ilaak and azara(lol forgot her name).

Some of those reminded me about the Tau Empire of WH40K.
Anyway, they look very good, I can't wait to see them in game.

Re: The Techion Faction
I am gonna try to determine their classes from right to left. Assault,Rammer (A new class made up in my mind, their jetpack goes in the way they are facing so they ram NMEs and they are impact resistant),Heavy,Standard (if you have seen planet side 2/1 you know what i mean) and another Assault. hope fully i got them right, I might try to do the rest of the techion ones.
