   |   Re: Promster has no love for RoninI'm also really interested in the heavy guy, a brute of man clad in layer upon layer of makeshift armor. Tougher than the coalition heavy but heavier and therefor slower. More like the one lizard designed, they should both be added as each other's counterparts. Coalition has the mobile heavy support, while the Ronin get a colossal guardian.

   |   Re: Promster has no love for RoninI don't get why the Ronin doesn't have a special trained unit or something like that.Every organisation of any sort have elite agents. Even if they are underground or poor or stuff.

Not entirely related, but this is what I've been thinking: I imagine the Ronin would buy the cheapest, most bare minimum military gear from Tradestar or black markets: battle suits (made of leather, artificial fiber and some polymer) that provide equipment mounting and protection against debris, shock, climate, but nothing else. They would be desperate enough to add makeshift armors on troops, but at least they have some consistency in terms of clothing. Base on this (made-up) idea, I give the Ronin a sort of "uniform" and abide to the grey and brown color scheme. Even as a rag-tag group, they NEED visual consistency to distinguish themselves from other factions.

   |   Re: Promster has no love for RoninWhere do you even get stuff to make makeshift armor?
Look I lived off mechanical pencils I found on the ground all last year, but seriously it's gotta be like trying to use second-hand paper napkins.

A faction being supplied, I might point out, with surplus/copy weapons from the 20th and 21st Century back on Earth. For pete's sake, man, they use AK-47s and M16s! When other factions are using things like... well, just look at the Dummy guns! Ronin are underequipped and underfunded. Of course they'd use makeshift armour.

   |   Re: [Big Bump] Promster has no love for RoninThe coalition/dummy weapons are faaaar more expensive than the Ronin ones, but those big and mighty factions can buy them in huge bulk to keep the cost well down.

   |   Re: [Big Bump] Promster has no love for RoninSo, with regards to Alien Soldier 2, what role would he play, exactly? Would he be just another soldier? You make it sound like they'd be brains of some sort, but if they can't be disembodied, can they control other units? Come to think of it, is the disembodiment a prerequisite for controlling bodies?
Oh, and I feel it important to note that I freaking love these. Great work, man.

I simply went from there and drew this character without thinking of gameplay mechanics. I don't know if disembodiment is necessary for controlling other units either, and I don't want to make assumptions. At least regarding this guy we are talking about, his brain is too delicate to accept most enhancements.

   |   Re: [Big Bump] Promster has no love for RoninLooking good soldat, that human guy is exactly as I imagined him. The four eyed alien is better than I could have hoped for. Great work.Looks like they really had to push him into that suit, love him.

It's ♥♥♥♥ AWESOME. Ronin should really have something like it. Really.
