The Game RUNS But...
I can run the game and play it but no animations actually happen. It only updates the visuals when I click on the top bar above the window (googled it, its called the title bar I think). The animations work if I hold my mouse button down while hovering over it but as soon as I stop clicking, nope no more animations. Why is this happening and how do I fix it. Oh and I can hear sound just fine, in fact its mocking me right now, the bastard. EDIT: MADE A VIDEO OF THE PROBLEM http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D_g4atZV ... e=youtu.be

Re: The Game RUNS But...
What resolution are you using? Does the game work when running it in 640x480? You can edit this manually in base.rte\settings.ini; Code: ResolutionX = 640 ResolutionY = 480

Re: The Game RUNS But...
I'm using the default resolution, and changing it doesn't seem to make a difference.
EDIT: And to be more specific, it still runs the animations when I click off of the title bar it just doesn't update them if I'm not clicked on it.

What operating system are you using, and where is CC installed?

Oh and I can hear sound just fine, in fact its mocking me right now, the bastard. Exact same problem here. Tried reinstalling, running from desktop, no luck. The worst part is that it ran perfectly fine last night. The only thing that changed since then was switching the resolution of my screen, but I did a clean reinstall - shouldn't be an issue, right?

Re: The Game RUNS But...
Move your entire Cortex Command folder into another place such as the desktop or My Documents, and change the shortcuts accordingly.

Of course I read this forum already! It originally ran fine from Program Files, but I installed to desktop anyway just to check - no luck. Anyway, to be clear, I was originally running it on a second monitor - it worked great. When I unplugged my second monitor it didn't work at all. The animations weren't working (except when clicking the Title Bar), and full screen was just blank. I've since plugged my second monitor back in, however, and now it's working again! No idea what that's all about (not a techie) but I hope there's something that can be learned...

Everyone assumed it was something simple because most of the time it is.

Re: The Game RUNS But...
Well done for reading the forum anyway, that really is a very common issue and you may have had problems with it anyway. I'll make a mental note of that bug so I can address people with display issues similar to yours accordingly.

Re: The Game RUNS But...
Further update: Running smoothly now, even on just the single monitor.
I fixed by unplugging the second monitor and then REBOOTING the computer to "fix" the display settings. I then uninstalled CC and reinstalled so it would use the display settings of just the single monitor setup.
Success!
I suspect I'll have to do the same thing when I switch back to my double display setup, but it's easy enough. It simply exposes a weakness in the program's ability to adapt to changes in display settings - totally acceptable in Beta of course.
Thanks for the help Roast Veg et al.

Ever try running as administrator?
Back in '23 that's all it took for me.
