DayZ
You know what DayZ is right? W-what you don't? Well Take a 200 by 200Km stretch of russian land http://avidblur.com/arma2/ ( thats the map ) Add a couple of buildings and sprinkle buildings around it. Then add around 500 Zombies. Add random loot around all of the buildings. Add around 50-60 players that start with a gun some ammo a medkit and some food and water. Let them all loose to go team up create gangs. Kill each other for loot and have general fun while trying to not get shot by bandits and eaten by zombies To live you need to regulate your temperature your blood count and your food and water. Lose too much of any of those and you are ♥♥♥♥ dead. Also this isn't a L4D Like thing it's more of a SHOOT ONCE AND ENTIRE RUSSIAN TOWN IS INSIDE OF YOU. The game uses the Arma2 engine so it's pretty realistic. http://dayzmod.com/ Thats the mod link. Unfortunately you need Arma2 and Arma2 operation arrowhead. There are quite a few let's plays of it, I reccomend Northernlions - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CjxjfmbzOFwSo yeah we should start a little DRLFF Clan thing or atleast a group or server so we can group together and survive and help or kill and raid everyone who we see.

Re: DayZ
If anyone is familiar with Criken, he did a livestream of him playing with his friends. After a couple hours of dicking around, it eventually turned to almost everyone on the server going for Criken and his friends' blood. Needless to say, they got very paranoid.

Re: DayZ
I played it before, this mod is not for everyone, it is too hardcore even more hard core than arma itself and require investment of lots of free time to actually get any fun from it. I actually enjoyed watching other people play it instead of playing it myself.

Re: DayZ
It looks like the perfect mod for me but I still need a new computer.

Re: DayZ
Arma II AND operation what's it's name. It looks pretty cool, but 30€ to play a mod is a bit excessive.

Re: DayZ
I've been playing it some, BEFORE EVERYONE WENT MINCRAFT OVER IT.. ahem.. It's quite good.
One of my favorites was when I was stalking two guys with pretty nice gear and I only had a makarov. It ended up with me out of ammo looting the last guy and he suddenly wakes up and fire at me point blank with a sniper rifle and then bleed out... So all three died.

Re: DayZ
Everyone going minecraft over it was the best thing that happened to it.
Bohemia realized it's hella fun, therefore Arma 3 will have even better support for stuff like that.

Criken! ^_^ Shame I always miss his livestreams I feel I would totally play if I actually HAD Arma II Seems daunting now after the recent update, no pistol, instead replaced with a torch, on the upside melee weapons are usable

Re: DayZ
Crowbars are ridiculous due to the damage per hit. I mean, you can kill a zombie in two hits, that happen in about half a second.
But at least people now tend not to shoot you just your makarov mags.

What? I think he means "... just for your Makarov mags". --- I've been watching some videos of the mod, and it looks pretty awesome. Way too intense for me though, I'd go mad within hours. If some of my friends get into it I might get it, who knows. We'd end up killing each other accidentally pretty soon anyway.

What? I think he means "... just for your Makarov mags". Yes, that. And it's really not that intense. Although you will come across a few zombies most of the time is spent running between villages.
