You might want to put the link to the blog in the first post.

Re: Magical Schoolgirl Love Tale
We now have a public demo! Version 0.05a can be found here, and will be in the OP very soon. This is approximately half of the first act, and what we have here is still up for heavy revision. All sprites are placeholders and programmer art, and it should be expected that there may be bugs and/or typing errors. Please report anything you find and give us as much feedback as possible - we need it! HK you are a sneaky irc reader.

Re: Magical Schoolgirl Love Tale
Time to test. Be back soon for feedback.
Semi-Review time.
You might want to make the music transition between each scene. Instead of having the old track fade out and then the new one jump in, you could blend the two. Fade out, fade in.
I'm liking that 'Skip seen messages' option, even if it doesn't seem to work currently. It will become useful when you do new playthroughs.
The auto-forward time bar, what does it do? You might want to put descriptions for what each of the options do when you scroll over them with your mouse. It would help make understanding everything easier.
Besides for the music thing, the only other part that I am not a fan of is the lack of a picture for 'Shin'. But I suspect that you will include other character as development continues.
Looking forward to the next release. Good luck n' stuff.

Re: Magical Schoolgirl Love Tale
Played the demo (Only found one spelling mistake, after the first lunch break Furai says 'you' instead of 'your'), great, but one or two things bugged me a little. Firstly, the text (While good) doesn't seem to be fluid enough, and the start reads more like a block of information than an introduction. Secondly, I found the leaps in time a bit disconcerting, spending one page in class, then the next finding myself just waking up without any bridging. Great work though, and if you ever need an extra hand with any non-art related tasks...

Although yeah, we need to sort the UI out. We'll be working on the looks and functionality after the plot for the first act is polished.

Re: Magical Schoolgirl Love Tale
Yeah, I was just wondering as I have played a little to much Katawa Shoujo for the last 18hours, (was gonna test the game for my GF becouse she have a strong phobia for amputated limbs; and I though this game might help... she also like girls.. alot) I found KS to be a most exellent game, which I never though I would.
And as KT development started much like this game, I got intrigued.

Re: Magical Schoolgirl Love Tale
This is in no way dead, no. We've got a lot more already in the pipeline, there's plenty of backed up story still to rewrite into the game, and every time we reach a major plot point I'll try to release a new demo.

Re: Magical Schoolgirl Love Tale
Nope, definitely not dead. I swear I made a reply before...
I took a short break to focus on my day job, but now back to script writing. As this is a first project, I wouldn't be expecting something of KS length/complexity.
First big demo will be when we've finished off and polished the first Act.

Re: Magical Schoolgirl Love Tale
It's currently looking to be about a fifth of the size (in words) of Katawa Shoujo.

Re: Magical Schoolgirl Love Tale
Erh, I was in no way implying that your game would be like KS (in leanth or otherwise), just that your team set-up sounds like they started out ^^
But seeing your avatars I guess you have a fond feeling for KT - and as that game was well over my expectations (first game in years to do so), I hope you'll aim to be in the vicinity of that game gameplaywise.
Also, quit your dayjob.

Re: Magical Schoolgirl Love Tale
KS started out by taking an image someone made. We started out by spouting a full-caps parody of VN stereotypes and me conscripting Roast into doing all the work. Dayjob is actual job, no can do! Also, my avatar is Kurisu Makise from Steins;Gate (another very good VN).
