The issue is that the armor these actors are wearing is strong enough to completely absorb and break missiles and heavy artillery, but a brick destroys it.

Its an issue of comparison, not of whether or not gibs should kill in the first place.

Well, then it's a matter of something somewhere being poorly coded/not coded to work together, whether that be the missiles or the actor, not that the gibs are overpowered.

Dropship gibs can be a threat, yeah, but that's nothing compared to controllable $50 rockets that kill $250 equipped actors almost every time, when they're exposed to the sky.
I haven't defended my base with guns at all in the past few campaigns I've played.

I dont see any problem with this, just dodge them. What concerns me is exploding when i cross the map wrap boundry.
All ship gibs should be deadly its a freaking rocket

It makes sense that getting smashed with a rocket is lethal, but what doesn't make sense is that rockets are so cheap that suicide attacks with them to kill just one light infantry each are fiscally practical.

@Azukki well put. It should hurt more finacially to purcase rockets then actors, but i think the low cost is in that they are treated like a tradestar taxi service

If that were the case, Tradestar would quickly realize that the majority of its rockets do not return, and greatly up the price for using them.

Might be hard to implement, but that would be an interesting gameplay mechanic; dropships go up in price exponentially if they are not returned, otherwise the price stays the same. Maybe have a reverse mechanic where if the price is inflated, a few successful returns result in the price going back down to normal.

nah, we already get a full refund if we successfully return the dropships (lesser refunds if dropship is damaged, of course.). they should just cost more.

Tradestar is so large, whatever you do less of blowing their station up won't cause the prices to change one cent.

Except that they don't use or accept USD for purchases and sales.
So you're right - it wouldn't go up or down any amount of cents, or dollars. It would go up or down an amount of Gold Ounces.

Wouldn't a really simple fix be to give the dropship gibs some air resistance, so they don't fly so far? :???:

It's completely reasonable that actors should be crushed if they're underneath the dropship at the time it disintegrates, but the problem is from doors and engine parts flying huge distances without settling. Making them have friction in air would curve their trajectories into something more ballistic and short-ranged.

I think the problem is you guys think Dropship Gibs aren't their own faction, vying for control of the planet.

A brick sized gib made out of metal/plastic falling out of the sky? no way that would kill some one. :pipe:
PS: you guys should make a sarcasm smiley, but there is a rolling eyes smiley.

i had something happen where there are those pointless 1 pixel by 1 pixel gibs slowly fly into my face and cause like 20 damage. also, have you noticed that dead enemy bodys are very lethal now? if you have 100 heath and kill a enemy above you and he falls on you, you die in a instant.
