Post Re: Magitech: Frontiers
I arrive! And I bring with me a lot of mint-green text.

Quote:

"...You better not start going "HEY LISTEN"."
"I wouldn't even think of it."

You roll your eyes and begin to jog off again, looking for the surgeon you so desperately desire to find, and Silmein almost immediately slumps on your shoulder. Struck by a sudden desire to know what's up, you ask.

"What's wrong?"
"I'm sorry. It's a 3."
"What is that supposed to mean?"
"I suppose you wouldn't know that, would you..." Here Silmein straightens up, developing smoky wings again, and floats in front of your face.
"We Fairies effect the probability of the success of our keepers' actions. In essence, how successful you are at everything you do is randomly determined..."
You make a face of disgust, which portrays your thoughts a hundred times better than words can. Silmein seems to get the idea.
"Don't think of it as a curse! We may lower your chances of succeeding somewhat... drastically, but we also allow you to perform actions that no normal person ever could."

You don't like to think that your life isn't completely in your hands, but the extra power couldn't hurt. And the idea that your recent failures may not have been your fault makes you feel a bit better.

"Still doesn't change the fact that I haven't found that surgeon."
"Well, I suppose all I can do is wish you good luck."

You're not sure whether you like this fairy or not.

"right.. uhh" Tarik pauses while nothing is happening, calculating what to do next.
"ill get us sorted" he says to the party "Horace show us the way to castle grey."

Tarik and his band of merry men progress towards the castle.
Tarik places Harold and fatboy in the center of the group while Horace and Anthony are on point. Tarik not wanting to let Geldmann out of his sight both follow up, watching for followers.

By instinct, you leap back into the shadows, popping back out on a nearby balcony and into a group of men. The small team of Death Watch of Stein are almost as surprised as you are.
8 men, don in light black armor, raised from birth to fight and armed to the teeth with the high tech equipment, the best the Stein has to offer.
You smile, this will be an easy win.
Swinging your blade, you slice the throat of the first one and dash past him to impale the next. Kicking one man into the Nether, you then tear another three apart with your shadow tendrils. One of the two remainders tries to get off a shot from his rifle, but the gun is cut in half and he's missing his arms before he can let out a scream. The last soldier simply drops his sniper rifle jumps off the ledge, reasoning suicide was a better option then what was about to happen to him, sheathing your sword, you believe he was right.
A brief search through their equipment proves quite fruitful,
~~~~~~
Obtained!
-Night vision goggles (powered by phosphorescent spores, they could prove to be quite valuable.)
-2x Hextech Revolvers (After weighing up the pros and cons of the large array of guns, you select these for two reasons. First and foremost their ability to enchant the bullets, while these soldiers had special Hex Vials ('Hexs' being magic that can be created by natural combinations of materials, rather than a mage) for specific purposes (poison, fire, ect) you should easily be able to just pump in shadow magic yourself. The other was how they use the standard ammunition, meaning ammunition should be quite easy to find. Coincidently, they also looked the coolest.
-Lord Roberts assassination orders (detailing the Death-Watch's plans)
~~~~~~
Looking off the balcony, you smile as you can't believe your luck (While Charlotte smiles, knowing all to well.).
Fading into the shadows once again, you materialize in Lord Roberts shadow, who is currently staring at the corpse of the soldier who leapt. Standing directly behind him, you whisper into his ear.
"At your service my lord."
As he turns, you give a short bow, and Charlotte gives a cute little curtsy.
"I believe these were his."
You say while handing over the Assassination orders, motioning to the twisted body.
Caek, if you could kindly post Lord Roberts response.

"I'm not even going to ask how you got there."
"Teleportation magic is quite a risk indeed. Hellish abominations and all in those realms."
"Assassination orders, eh?"

He looks over the piece of paper.
"Twelve thousand Steinans for the man who brings in my head."
"Pshhhh, I'd have killed you for seven thousand."
"What?"
"Just a joke, sire. I'd never kill you because your my drinking brother. Besides, tech fairies get a bad reputation if the person they are following dies."
"Damn straight."

Lord Robert looks at Verigon.

"You look like you can handle your self pretty well. How about a little side mission?"

"We're readying the castle for teleportation. Being in the middle of two super powers and being hated by both sides, it does not hurt to be prepared."
"Teleporting the castle is easy, but keeping it shielded from the horrors of Mana while in transit is the hard part."
"Indeed. We need to set up some shield stones around the castle in eight locations to make the shield as strong as possible. Then the magi inside the castle, not on the Spire, will start casting the spell to shift the castle to a different place in Chermanshire. Somewhere we can regroup."

"Not only that, there are some nearly irreplaceable things in Castle Grey. The history of the Realm, the lineage of the royal family, and some very interesting relics from the ill fated expedition to Mana."
"And lastly the War Map. It'll give us the advantage we're going to sorely need if we are going to fight back."

"So, what do you say? I'll come with you if you are going to set up the shield stones, but I'll do it myself if I have to. Castle Grey is too important to fall into enemy hands."

"Oh, and I don't believe we've been introduced. I'm Lord Robert, nice to meet you, sir...?"
He extends his hand

His tech fairy moves closer, moving around Verigon and Charlotte.
"Hello!"

"I'm Lord Roberts tech fairy, but people call me Joe. I act as his combat mechanics and his personal advis-"
Joe stops moving when he notices Charlotte.
"Hold on. Are you a tech fairy too?"

"Ah... yes lord, my name is Verigon, I will help. I have passed through that realm more than most, and I wouldn't recommend teleporting far; especially with something this big."

"Joe, this is Charlotte, she's been with me for a while; it's nice to see another of her kind out here."

Look up in my enchanters guide how to use the Hextech's, see if I can find something about using shadow for ammunition.

I think he meant normal teleportation Verigon, not by using that sickening hell-scape like you do.
"It's a pleasure to meet both of you, and I'm glad we can once again be of service to our Lord.
to Verigon.
"Idiot, you're holding them upside down, and the tube bit goes in the other direction! I mean seriously, how could you get that wrong?!"

-Not being a complete idiot with guns!

Hexs? It's exactly the same as normal magic, just made with chemicals, all you have to do with these guns is just pump it full of whatever magic you feel like and start shooting... you realize you should know this stuff right? No, you can not make bullets out of shadows, its a gun, it fires metal slugs, using an explosive, something which I thought was a pretty simple concept.

"I just assumed that he would since he mentioned "the horrors of Mana"."

"Well then... So I need to find ammo then inject magic into the hex's, or directly into the gun?"

((Offtopic: You kinda spelled the name wrong twice, lol))

I'd think small personal teleportation would be rather safe. Putting an entire magic-laden castle through a teleport though, THAT sounds like some interdimensional terrors would take notice.

Spoiler'd for hugeness.

There's a lesson in this somewhere. Don't try writing a event about teleporting a castle which is called Castle Grey when the game of thrones theme is going through your head.

I'll go edit the post. I could do with one of those fancy Continuity Editors/Script Supervisor.

"Alright, How could I put this really simply..."
"Hexs are little vials of magic used by people who can't use magic. The guns were made for normal, non magical soldiers to enchant their bullets with magic, via hexs. You on the other hand can create magic yourself, so there is no need to use hexs. You can simply hold the gun, and channel magic into it. The sole purpose of a gun is to fire bullets, so yes you will need to use them."

Whispered to Lord Robert.
"Pardon his ignorance my lord, I suspect he was dropped on his head as a child..."
