It's still TBA and all of you should know what CS and the jazz of it. New weapons are being added and a new game type the details are fogged up in my mind and I'm tired, so I hope some of you are CS fans and know what I'm talking about and are kind enough to contribute what you know about the games new features.http://store.steampowered.com/app/1800/

Actually, Valve's only co-creating it. Hidden path entertainment are the ones doing most of the work.

Dang, seems cross-platform multiplayer was cancelled, except between PC and Mac.
Seeing mouse vs analog stick in action in it would have been interesting.

I'd say there'll probably be a "shitload" of players anyway. It's Counter-Strike, after all.

If I recall correctly, some game company tried that but only as a beta, since mouse + keyboard dominated too heavily.

They tried it with TF2 and played it console to PC often in development, and there was also ShadowRun, a game which allowed for cross platform from consoles to PC, but really kind of sucked.

It's not a popular thing, really. I prefer console controls anyways.

ShadowRun also had sucky pc controls and acceleration and bad port itis all around.

Here's a summary on why it's an awesome idea but in practice it's pretty shitty:

Portal 2 does it PS3-PC well, don't see why they cancelled it, too many players?

But Portal 2 doesn't have competitive multiplayer.

I wish they would make damn cross-platform servers so all consoles and computers could play with one another. It would bring game prices down hopefully since PC games are always cheaper for some reason, and it would make the want to elminate single consoled games like halo, killzone, and any other single consoled games not mentioned.

I hate that PC versions of a game are cheaper than the console version. Plus it would give diehard console gamers the ability to play with diehard PC gamers.

Then more indie games could bridge from PC to consoles and we would see hopefully many indie games like CC being played on consoles.

The gaming future is always bright.

But you will never have the precision my mouse has with your analog stick. Ever.

That reason is supply and demand, meaning if anything cross-platform ♥♥♥♥ would drive UP prices. And it wouldn't make "them", whoever the ♥♥♥♥ that is, want to "elminate single consolde games" because that makes no ♥♥♥♥ sense.

From Lizard's link:
Quote:
The console players got destroyed every time. So much so that it would be embarrassing to the XBOX team in general had Microsoft launched this initiative. Is this why the project was killed Who knows, but I'd love to hear from anyone involved --- what happened?

So, I say again, Dauss, your controller sucks and so does your mom.

This just makes no god damn sense and the leaps of logic you are taking would ASTONISH a pole vaulting mentalist.

Ah but I will always have precision movement controls over your keyboards cardinal directions and all-or-nothing movement speeds. Can't argue precision aiming though, but I seem to do alright with my analogs regardless.
