There was nothing I enjoyed more then putting those ED bastards in their place with my disembodied brains. Gotta love the UCS. You enlist, your brain gets removed and slapped in a mech.
Really? Last I checked, the UCS were a bunch of pansy-ass slobs who were too lazy to manage themselves and too scared to fight face to face, so they made an army of AIs to run everything and gave the AIs a horde of remotely-controlled warbots to crush the UCS' enemies.
God damn. I remember reading somewhere that the UCS were disembodied brains, but I can't remember where.
But you need to learn your back story. The UCS, the United Civilized States were what remained of the USA after a nuclear war. And I'd hardly call them lazy, they created a rather interesting government system where a lottery would cycle rulers who would be in power for a few months. These leaders were assisted by AI, which eventually took control of the government after recovering a alien spacecraft from Area 51.
Eventually, war broke out in the British Isles yadayadaya ED nukes the north pole altering the planets orbit and sending it into the sun.
The Phoenix, the UCS evacuation ship was a huge saucer with hundreds of thousands of UCS citizens stored within in cryogenic suspension. The AI captain had decided to wait for the war between the LC and the ED to die down before awakening the colonists.

I don't know, Elder Scrolls online would kinda break some things of Elder Scrolls.
Like, some NPCs would have to respawn or be un-killable, and that's not very Elder Scrollish.
But there are respawning/unkillable NPCs in most Elder Scrolls games, certainly in Skyrim and Oblivion. There are hundreds of things that mean this won't be a very Elder Scrolls-y game (Third Person Only, Hotbar Skills, Mobs That Have Little Connection To Existing Elder Scrolls Monsters, It's Clearly Just An Attempt At A WoW Cash-In) but that isn't one of them
Never played those two, I just played Daggerfall and Morrowind.
Anyway, I hope this will be a unique MMO.

It's either that, or you are too good at it.

I'm actually extremely good at it.
I destroyed 3 constitutions and a excelsior before I decided to fight the nova. I was out of torpedoes, and the shields were pounded.
