> Getting back to your feet, you hear a loud wolf-like howl and run as fast as your stubby legs can carry you. Which, with the help of your mysterious new shoes, is actually pretty fast. The wolves no longer seem to be chasing you, and you can easily outrun the armor-ladened guards.

Turning a few corners, you lose sight of them and you think you've thrown them off your trail. There are a few small allyways here and there filled with junk, perhaps you can hide in one of them?

Of run through the west gate of town, which is now in side. There's a hole in the portcullis with wooden beams covering up, but you could probably plow through that. There are two more guards at the gate though, but they haven't seen you yet. Several townsfolk are also milling around, but not many, due to the bad weather.

You then kick the closest spearman towards the mage, sending them both flying for a bit before landing roughly on the ground north of you. The last spearman procedes to panic and run away to the north, leaving his companions behind.
