What is MSLT?

MSLT is a project that started out as a joke between Roast, me and a few other people in an online community we frequent, poking fun at stereotypes in Japanese entertainment media. We created a parody plot before realising that we wanted to make a VN as a serious project.
MSLT was the result of this.

It is a slice-of-life story, exploring the interactions between different personalities and characters.
The premise is that, in a world where magic is rare and prized, the protagonist has been found to have magical powers and is sent off to a high school for other magical youths. A loner type, he does not relish the thought. There is a whole new world ahead of him: What will he find there?


Who are we?

I suppose you want to know about who it is creating this project.
I'm Barnox, and my main role in this project is as writer and ideas. I've not released any work, nor have I had any real experience in working on a collaborative project. I'm looking forward to learning about project management and collaboration, as well as shipping out a finished product made of blood, sweat and tears.

Roast Veg is the other person working on this. He's taking up the coding and music (which you can find on the blog). He's also transcribing the prose that I create, which we then go through together to polish.

This is our first real project together, as well our first real team project.

I'm certainly interested, and can help with plot and coding (Why aren't there more artists in the world?).
Just a couple of things...
Firstly, I think the PC's 'magical ability' seems a bit extreme, the passives alright, but the I think the Alpha is a bit over the top.
Also, girl 2 scares me and I think girl 4 should be a girl, thought about that, could make for an interesting story if you strung out the 'unknown gender' bit. Girl 2 still scares me.

EDIT: Anyway, how will you/we be doing the writing? Will each of you/us get their own path to write, or a group effort?

I'm concerned myself that we're going to end up with wayyy too much story and code, but it's up to Banrax whether he thinks you'll be a valuable asset. I know you'll do fine if he does want you to help though.
Shhhhhhh! We've got that planned, don't worry.
We're not that far down the road yet to worry about that yet. It's probably going to be a group effort, that way we can work on consistency and stuff. It's pretty much been Banrax's work with my comments with story so far.

DAWBLEPAWST

I read on the blog that there is going to be a demo. Any idea when it will come out? I'm looking forward to trying it out.

I released version 0.04 for private testing last night - the next version will be the first public demo once it's cleaned up and rounded off to a convenient plot point. I'll do some work today, but won't be able to over the weekend, so some time next week most likely.

I must say, even though I wasn't able to muscle my way onto the dev team the progress on this looks amazing, can't wait till the demo.
