Yeah, how exactly does it work? Is it a Mass Effect style relay? Or more like caek's prototype teleporters?

Mine ain't prototype.

They are fully blown jump gates.

I make one my end, you make one your end. Link them together and you get instantaneous travel.

Cost effective, easy to build and potentially movable.

Smaller gates could be built planet side, too. Or between major factories.

Or at a staging ground at one planet, to a battlefield at another. The army walks straight through the gate directly onto a battleground.

I thought they could only transport inanimate, easy to reconstitute objects?

They're Mass Effect style relays, mightn't be as cost effective as teleportation, but at least you get the satisfaction of knowing that you're you, and the teleport people are just exact replicas of themselves.

In the early days, that was true, back when we did not use gates.

Once we used gates, along with sensors and some heavy metals, it became possible to shift a full blown object.

Also, I just remembered the offensive use for these babies.

Skip to 2:32 to see what I mean.

See that stargate? With the wormhole engaged?

There is a beam weapon coming out of it. That beam is emitted from the other side, nice and safe. The stargate is attached to a satellite that can reposition itself.

Useful.

FailFlail/Gungnir also has their own secret ship, it was partially uncovered by the alien drill. They appear to have stopped drilling when they struck the craft.

Gungnir Relays dont require an "out" portal as Canis' do.
Gungnir Relays use a concentrated "pulse" of energy that overdrives a ships engines. (ships must be modified to handle the overcharge) This allows the ship to cover great distances in a short space of time.

Canis' first mass transport could not be used to transport humans due to the forces involved.
Their new teleporter tech requires an IN and OUT gate, the OUT must be created at the same time as the IN. (so OUT will have to be moved after construction to the site)
Canis Teleporters use two "gate" like constructions which a single fusion reaction is "halved" and is placed in the gate. The unstable partial reactions are stabilized by them. When selected they destabilize the reaction causing it to collapse into itself. Any matter caught within the collapse is instantly transported to the other one which collapses at the same time. After each firing a new reaction must be made split for the gates.

Gungnir Relays can be fired multiple times. However Canis' are single shot (you can fit quite an amount into a single shot though, highly dependent on the teleporters size.) (though the energy required for the teleporter size is exponential)

Then I vote we set up a mass relay at Moloch Station, connected to the Gungnir-owned system. By next turn, I should have the heaviest colony defense grid up. And we only need one relay per system, really.

Damn.

I thought it was like the stereotypical jump gates you see in games like X3.

The gate tunnels through subspace instead, and a ship entering it appears the other end.

Dammit, you and your higher technological advances.
I was about to work on long-distance teleports from between systems, for the Alliance.

Speaking of Alliance, we need Flail's vote to admit Miggles as a full member.

And yeah, Miggles. You might want to focus your teleportation research in a category we haven't explored (hit and run teleporting ships? weaponized teleportation? battleship eating warp rifts?) or just put your scientists to work elsewhere.

I've nailed down teleportation. I could beam the crew off a enemy ship, which is pretty damn useful.

Canis Minor

Continue the science. Both SciCorp and PsyCorp
SciCorps work into airborne genetic engineering begins to bear fruit with a series of genetically engineered viruses capable of re-writing a subjects DNA, Testing continues in working out how to do this without causing damage stress to the subject. for now the viral strain could be used as a simple biological weapon.
PsyCorp success comes in the form of memory recording and playback through brainwaves. Via a "harness" or helmet placed over the subjects head the brainwaves can be read and played back. allowing memories to be trasnferred from person to person. There is a small margin of error with certain brainwaves being transferred. it is suggested subjects are kept similar.

Order the starship design bureau to start designing a Leviathan, a ship the size of three dreadnoughts, equipped with the LOAD/ADW system. Give it a command and control system.
The Leviathan, a spaceborne version of Canis Prime being constructed on the planet below. Though slightly smaller initial concept work has been laid down for a ship capable of unleashing the most devastating ammount of firepower ever. Initial designs revolve around "the centerpeice" either multiple LOADS bays, a single massive weapon or a cruiser class shipyard/dock.

Start construction of a enormous dry dock in orbit.
Work on a Leviathan class dry dock begins with the foundations going up in good speed. Skinning has allready begun and the systems are allready being installed by engineers. Labour teams report a 1 turn ETA maybe 2 for maximum functionality.

Put out another contract for the private sector to develop a new energy weapon for star ships.
Directed energy weapons are a new technology to canis and traders have been in talks with Gehenna over obtaining schematics for their laser tech.

Jump gate design?
Power issues are stalling the program. With reserach being needed into some kind of immense generator.

The last Varg seige frigate is complete and resources are eagerly plundered by the other projects running

Gungnir Industries

"Have the colonists in G system look for an area that can be quickly set up for a self sufficient colony, then send me a report on Ypsilon, how much is completed, finer details [Huntsman already filled me in on it, but it'd be nice to know the exact details] (Also I'd still like its full capabilities to remain secret to the others thank you)"
Colonists have begun relaying wire throughout the main habitation areas of the former Xexelith base for now most are simply living on the ships.
According to the system Ypsilon appears to be 99% ready. The colonies demise appears to have happend in a testing incident, The arrays immense draw literally leaching the static out of the air.

"The extra refineries should be done by now, get a small division of Rosenthal to do a reevaluation on chemical refining (if safe, reintroduce) and have the remainder of the division work on advanced farming drones. I would like an official to create a general report on how to increase my refined metal output in a short amount of time,"
Research into Chemical refining shows it is perfectly safe and the current disease is not an occurance from it. The first of the refineries is complete with a boost in metal income almost immediatly. Industry leaders say that current gehennan refining processes are effectient and the construction of more refineries would aid in refining as a 2nd refinery would then allow us to expand mining. Canis colony currently has an excess of refining units perhaps a trade could be organized using the trading vessels from Canis.

"Finally, give GAIA a twice as many kilo- ♥♥♥♥ -s of funding, a cure would be very nice and will earn them a large bonus to their salary."
GAIA have done it. With the expanded budget and not even a whole turn of work lead GAIA'n scientist David Thuke has created a workable cure. Though it wont restore eyesight to those who have lost it, or repair damaged eyes. The first subjects report no effects after 1 to 2 turns of being medicated. The drug an eyedrop begins manufacutre for all Gungnir residents.

Gehenna

Set up a perimeter of automated defensive stations on the asteroids and floating in space around Moloch Station. Fit them with Arc-Armor, flak guns to point-intercept fighters, and heavy missiles. A veritable sphere of steel.
Gehennan Defense Spheres begin construction. The design a sphere of armour capable of "folding up" to become nigh indistructable. and unfolding to present 6 missile bays and 6 twin flak gun systems.
The first batch of weapons is completed and the first station comes online the second fighting for resources over the hawyre team.

Set up additional microfusion reactors to cook carbon for Arc-Armor. Use the excess energy from said reactors to fuel new heavy laser turrets mounted on Moloch Station's hull.
Additional microfusion reactors are constructed within moloch station designed to power the heavy lasers being installed. resources however cause project setbacks.

Work on improving the wakefulness drug I was developing earlier, giving it the additional effect of boosting multitasking abilities and memetic recall. Distribute the new version.
GIBED is designed and distribuited to the population. the effectiveness of GIBED is quickly seen with boosts to Science and Industry becomming evident almost immediatly.
With the implimentation of the new GIBED drug sideeffects include more agressive Lightbugs and many colonists are comming off the drug due to the invection becomming more advanced and destroying soft tissues.

minor actions
Modify one "Lightshow" Pit Dog to a "Flyswatter" configuration.
Implement new molecular refining methods.
One of the Lightshow pitdogs is refit to a flyswatter in good time. the Haywire half constructed, framework complete and skinning is mostly done, just internal systems to be installed now.
New molecualr refining methods are implimented with modifications being made to the old systems to acomodate the change.

Thimai

Be industrious
The industrial facialities in Uruk Prime await your order. Clean and prepared for orders. Little more is to be done apart from twiddle thumbs.

Research the anti-rad medicines some more
Research into anti radiation medication becomes a reality with drugs designed to promote healthy cell growth and new cells more resilliant to radiation damage than previous ones.

Expand the city!
City expansion begins with the new radiation drug helping its expansion across the planet. Many of the populace still live in poverty however they live.

Stationem XXVI

>Research 2: Electric boogaloo
Research into teleportation continues however no real progress is made. all teleportation systems currently devised destroy the item on transport due to immense g forces, or the fact they they are reduced to atoms and no theory can currently put them all back together again correctly. Still science continues.

>Develop weaponry which can fire armor piercing pods, which explode once inside of whatever it is it pierces. These pods will be filled with some of the potent Gehennan acids, and chilled within the pods to remain liquid. Once explosion occurs, they will become superheated (due to explosions ofc) and leak into the object at the other end, possibly killing whatever remains from the initial explosion. Mount these guns to the can interceptors.
something meaty the scientists can really get into with the new Acid pod beign created and prototyped. The pod has primary and secondary explosives. as well as a tertiary explosive. First explosives punch a hole in the outer exterior, secondary explosives force the missile in through the hole and tertiary explosives clear a small area away.

>Construct large super heavy duty bunker underground, capable of housing all of Stationem's citizens in case of emergency. Begin bringing rations down to the bunker.
Stationem's bunker project begins construction the first level of habitation is completed quickly and effeciently with many citizens beign carted to the planets surface already.

Klik'Tar

Verigon

Improve the success/recall rate of memory implantation.
Further reserach into the node points located within a human brain unlocks more effecient ways to recall memory while the contents of the recorded memories are still a problem. A "standardised" format would be required. but how do you reformat a brain?

Now that there is something to work off of in the field of memory implantation, see if there is a non surgical way to do this.
The current system of hardwiring to neural nodes is the focus of most of the research, currently the adapter takes up a palm sized area however with the right neural centers located a smaller adapter roughly the size of a power outlet is designed. Non surgical ideas are presented but trouble on how to remote access a brain is the major issue. sources on the brain carrier wave elude scientists however work continues.

Create more agriculture drones.
Manufacturing begin work on agricultural drones. The first pair are online late this turn.

minor:
Keep writing the Magnus until finished. Start writing the Mysterium once done.
The Magus is complete. With the first 3 volumes covering the basics of Vreigon life. The Mysterium covers science, the hierarchy and attacks deeper questiosn about the meaning of life.

Refine the raw metal.
This is automatic :)

Take a colony morale check.
The colonists of Verigon are an active sort with science being a wonderous focal point of the colony.
Verigon colonists having only just arrived are eager to explore their new surroundings.
Research into memory implants leaves the colony with a larger "hivemind" aspect with many colonists sharing memories freely each free to experience their own life, but each with the ability to "recieve" everyone elses experiences. Those few too divergent have been cast out from the greater Verigon mindset being seen as "incompatable" both memory and personality wise. Not treated with hostility but treated as one who simply does not understand and cannot be educated for the true verigon meaning lies too deep for conventional explanation. Only one of the "twists" or "strangers" stands out as important and thats Kasper Hauser. Writer of the Magus and Mysterium.

TITAN Automated Industries Hiveship Sigma

> Sigma: Finish up that queue, deploy all new drones planetside.
All new drones are deployed planetside while the frieghter awaits orders just off the planetside of the hiveship.

> Sigma: Calculate the resources and equipment necessary to enact engine repairs. Then see if the process can't be optimized somehow.
New cowlings, exhausts, skirtings and nozzles are manufacutred considerably faster then expected. with subtle adjustments to their design providing a small boost to the cruize engines at full power.

> Drones:
>> Locators: Keep exploring until everything is mapped and surveyed, then return to the main base under the shelter.
Lolcators report the whole central system has been completely mapped after the last drones successfully map the souther parts of the town. Main outbound lines are still unmapped and estimates report they may go on for many thousands of kilometers.
>> Dozer: Expand and upgrade the internal/underground structure of the bunker - tidy up the storage areas, etc.
The Dozer clears underground space, converting the boarding area to more storage space. and placing the salvage it finds into the salvagers piles.
>> Moles: One mole is to attempt to rescue the Salvager - but abort if the situation becomes more dangerous (e.g.; sun rising). The others are to continue mining raw materials and stockpiling them under the bunker.
Moles begin condencing the blocks of salvaged metal into more space effecient cubes while others begin mining away at the seams of metal, the underground wiring prooves very lucrative.
Salvage of the Salvage bot goes well. with the bot removed and the building still upright, though very unstable now. Both drone and the salvage bot retreat underground for sunrise.

Order SciCorp to continue working on their projects. For Psycorp, however, try to get some results out of remote viewing.

Found a new SciCorp - AttackCorp. Give them the task of making a particle beam small enough to be used in fighter craft with a bigger variant for use on frigates and above.

Found another SciCorp - DefenceCorp. Give them the task of developing starship shielding to protect against weapons fire, not to be used on fighters or corvettes.

Leviathan design - Make the ship big enough for both!

And a little extra for ensuring the designers make the starship of dreams.
Increase the thickness of the armour on the Leviathan to quadruple whatever it was before. Increase reactor output by 3 times. Octuple the ships armaments. Make the ship as big as it needs to be, as expensive as needed.
That was not a joke either.
