Holy crapshackle you guys rolled amazingly.
Ragdollmaster (Troy) [9]:
"GO GO GADGET HARPOON! ROB, SHOCK THAT LINE AS SOON AS IT GOES IN!"Through your connection to the ship, the harpoon shoots out at your will, stabbing the octopus dead center, the large harpoon sinking into its flesh. It wails harshly from the wound, and the same dark liquid it sprayed onto the deck oozes out from the wound, mixing with blood.
You notice that the flow has stopped, and looking closer ice seems to have formed around the wound, freezing the blood loss and trapping the harpoon in. Then Robert shocks the harpoon.
CharacterMiggles (Robert Wright) [6]:
"ROB, SHOCK THAT LINE AS SOON AS IT GOES IN!"You wait for Troy to fire the harpoon, then as soon as it lands you grab onto the cable and fire off your Jumper Charge, noticing that you feel quite tired now.
CharacterFail Flail (Grif Mason) [8]:
"Did- Did It actually just do what I think it did, it wasn't just me who saw that right?"You check to confirm Charlotte's safety within your pocket, then renew your attack on the tentacles, deftly spearing it several times. It gives an absolutely unearthly shriek, and startled, you jump back from the tentacle.
Something around your feet goes splat, and you look down and see you've stepped in the octopus's... ink. Wait a tic, something's not right. Oh god, something's VERY not right, the ink is growing ice crystals, very large ice crystals oh god it's got your feet up to the knee.
"Oh god it's so cold, SOMEONE HELP!"CharacterIzen (Sedraxis) [8]:
"Aw, gross!"You wield your spear and attack a tentacle clenching the deck along with the others. It bleeds profusely from your stab wounds, but refuses to let go. It suddenly gives a very loud screech, scaring the crap out of you. You yelp in fear, and back away from the tentacle.
CharacterMaart3n (Mareikura) [8]:
"If black stuff can come out, hot stuff can go in"None of the suckers are exposed right now, so you make do with the next best thing and channel a bunch of fire into a thin lance (8+1=9), then spear that straight through the tentacle, hitting as much of it as you can. Immediately after, you clench your fist at the spear, and it blazes up even brighter, releasing the concentrated flame.
The octopus shrieks, and for some reason your flame lance flickers out.
CharacterTomaster (James Tiber) [8-2=6]:
"...Robert, so help me god, I'm on the verge of killing you."Bastard already ran off. You sling your gun, and pull out your sword, spinning and sending a heavy blow into one of the tentacles (6+1=7). You manage to cut into a good 4 inches of flesh before your blade stops. The octopus screams, hopefully because of your attack, and you draw you sword back and leap away, ready for more.
CharacterGame Events: The Sky Octopus, after being speared, gives off a tremendous noise of pain, then the Jumper Charge arcs along the harpoon cable. But instead of shocking the octopus, when it hits the ice covering the harpoon, the electricity scatters into the air, most shooting into nearby clouds, but a couple arc to the front of the ship, scorching the wood and starting a small fire.
However, the fires are quickly extinguished as the Octopus does... something. All its tentacles let go of the ship, and it draws back as much as it can. With the harpoon still in it, that isn't far. Its entire hue changes from a dark even blue to a pale, mottled sky blue. Clouds of vapor start rising off its skin, and all the wounds inflicted so far form a layer of ice over them, stopping any bleeding. The temperature of the area around the ship drops 15 degrees, and the Octopus bares two tentacles towards the ship, large crystals of ice forming out of the suckers.
The Sky Octopus has stopped viewing the ship as prey, and now sees it as a predator.
