The mage pulls his hand away from the column of fire, but before it dies, you see him flare out his hands and his arms become surrounded in electricity which effectively keeps the area lit up.

Holding his arms as if he was boxing but with fingers curled like claws, he lightens his footing and fixes his gaze on you and his mouth twists into a snarl, but doesn't make any direct offensive gestures.

Getting to your feet, you ignore the pain in your chest for a bit and jump high, grab onto the ledge of the building with your hands, and pull yourself onto the roof.

Keeping your head low, you hear shouting getting closer and the husky breathing and barking of some sort of wolves that sound rather large.

Snapping your head up, you see a hulking shape leap from a building and land on yours. It keeps its distance, staring at you.

Worst case, it hits him with the hilt and knocks the wind out of him, allowing me to kick his ass normal style.
Best case, it impales him through the chest, and the lightning arcs into his body.
