I'm pretty sure I saw a door somewhere which was manually operated, but it wasn't really a door and it didn't work like that though. It was craft shaped like a door, and when you selected it and pressed W or S you could open/close it.

But making a door as you say shouldn't be too hard.

In fact, I might give it a go.

That's pretty much how doors used to work, IIRC, a loooong time ago. It was a cheap hack/workaround people used until Data implemented proper doors.

Asklar, thinking of this?

The concept doesn't work nearly as well for horizontal doors, since you can break your legs off or fall through sometimes if you stand on them.
But there's not much need for that, since I imagine doors can be controlled via Lua now? Just add an invisible Actor that's selectable and have actiosn you try to do with it selected control a normal door.

Yep, that was what I thought of.

And I'm not sure if doors can be completely lua controlled, the only command for doors I know is MovableMan:OpenAllDoors(true/false,team).

I thought the "primary activate" whatever that is firing a weapon for an AHuman could prompt a door to close/open?

Hm, I didn't thought that. It might work.

I'll give it a try and come with results later.
