I've had problems with compatibility with paper, could never get anything that it compiled to run on... well, anything
I tried sticking it in the USB drive, in the disk tray, even dropping it directly into the case, but it just acted like I'd done nothing at all

Clearly you've never dealt with proper computing. You need a scanner to transfer information between paper and the computer properly you silly nilly.

I actually used electro-chromatography to allow ink to translate to binary code, it was messy and hello world looked more like KZZKGFW on the page.

So um... I'm just going to read over the tutorials provided and maybe take a quick look at how binary coding works.

@Homophanim
How would you make "hello world" pop up in the console through binary coding?

You don't.

So what's binary programming usually used for?

edit: I know I sound like a total programming idiot here, but its better to look stupid now than look stupid once I get into class/get a job.
I think.

Well I would love to spoon feed programming into your brain but Carl Herold does a much better job of doing it than I could ever do at www.highercomputingforeveryone.com and I am drunk and about to do debauchery so bye.

Looking stupid once you go into a class is the whole point of going into a class
