I would love to buy it, but I simply don't have the financial resources to do so.

You guys might have known that I was working on a book. This book, at last count, was nearly 200 A4 pages, making it approximately 400 A5 sheets of paper, making it half the size of A Game Of Thrones.


I've lost all backups of the book. Every single one. I had a copy stored on my computer, and it was just lost to hard drive failure. The other copy, was stored off site, but they ALSO, lost the backup.

I'm trawling through EVERY pen drive I have to find it. If I do find it though, it will be much, much, much smaller, and probably still in a early and unfinished state. If I do find it, I'll put it here.

Offsite lost it too? Dang. Sorry Caek.

Aw that sucks really badly. Like Glowsticks said, losing it offsite too is uncommon and nasty.

I've actually just phoned them, they are searching for the file.

I also checked ALL the USB sticks in my house. Not on ANY of them, but there might be a single back up left, on a old no longer used computer in my home.

I'm going to try and boot the thing up in a day or two, just to get the damned file. With a bit of luck, its not too far back, but the last time I used that machine was two years ago, so my book might not even exist yet.

I need a drink.

EDIT : I just checked me email address to see if I had a back up of it there. Sadly, none.

I know that feel Caek. Losing lots of work sucks bad, it's so demoralizing. Best thing to do is just try to get over it and start fresh. Easier said than done ofcourse...

Not even going to try and restart. Losing 200 pages of work - the last year in progress - is irreplaceable.

I declare my book well and truly dead if I cant get a back up off that machine tomorrow.

IO turn to alcohoal and other drugs to make me happy thas a bad idea ima kill myself onna these times i swear. but yeah lifes good, haha.
