Re: Magitech: Frontiers
Just to give a heads up - I'm switching to using 'you' now - the intro was simply in third person because it made sense to me that way. You know, like how in some games they start with a panoramic and then zoom in to your character and then whoosh - it's you. Or something like that. Anyway...

You sigh softly, standing upright and stretching a bit. “Too many memories in this place. Too many memories.” you say quietly as you approach the counter. “Hey old man, anyone else comes in, give ‘em a round on me. Just put it on my tab." The keeper says nothing, but nods, acknowledging the gesture. You turn about and head outside, pushing open the noisy wooden door only enough to fit through, as if trying to keep something inside of the building. It shuts behind you with a long, loud *creeaaaak* as if giving some kind of drawn-out farewell. An ashen-smelling breeze blows through the streets outside. You jog to the east wall, stopping when you reach the spot where its shadow encompasses much of the street below. You could take the nearby stairs to the battlements if you were so inclined. The guards normally stop common citizens from going up there, but if you run into a guard, they'd probably be too busy to stop anyone - especially someone who carries a weapon and already looks so much like a soldier.
Appearance: Green eyes, short cut dark brown hair, tall muscular build. Skills: - Sword Lover (+2 to using swords, -1 to using other weapons) - Strong as Hell (+1 to strength) - Blood Rush (+2 to melee rolls for 2 turns, then -1 to rolls for 2 turns) Wielded: - Magitech Claymore (Metal handle, projects a very large and wide energy blade) - Steel Shortsword Spellbook / Design Portfolio: - Empty Inventory: (3/10 slots) - 2 Healing Potions - Energy Storage Crystal Condition/s: None _______________________________
Silmein, Fairy of Memory (Nighthawk) Appearance: A white orb of pulsating light with two transparent, leaf-like wings. A tail of light follow it wherever it goes, and the pulse of its heart beats exactly every second. Condition/s: Teeny (Cannot be attacked)

(Psygnosis) Tarik Morskorj Healthy "What's next for you then, Harold?" Tarik questions, swilling the dregs of ambrosia around in the bottom of his glass. "You thinking o'gettin outta here? After all this time?"
"I'm an old, old man, Tarik. Where the hell d'ye think I'd run? Nowhere to run anyway, they're on both sides a Chermanshire. They'll smash and burn it like a nest 'o puny insects. Hornets maybe, but hornets can only dodge so much wizardflame and artillery before they die like the poor bastards that are up on those walls.
I'm gonna die here. Always knew I was gonna die here. I thought it could be from a madman, or a drunken mage, or even, hah, from 'overindulgence in spirits'. But now I know I'll be a bloody gods-damned casualty just because my homeland was,"
(he takes a moment to cough sickeningly and spit up a few drops of blood)
"...in the way. Imagine that, dead and gone because you were an old man, in the way. Annette wouldn't want me to to go like this..." he mumbles.
Harold stares down into his mug of liquor and starts to shake. You can't tell if he's starting to cry or it's just his cough acting up again.
He takes a sidelong glance at the Thundercracker blunderbuss and seems to reach a grim decision, then looks back at you. "Times like these, a man's gotta make a decision about his own fate, whether he lives or perishes. No kings'll tell 'im what to do in the Afterworld..." he croaks, then reaches for the weapon.
Appearance: A bullish face with a boxer's nose that has been broken a few too many times. He has green eyes under a jutting brow and has a shaven head. Standing a little over 2 meters, he was well known for his rough treatment of technology - often being given the most simplistic weapon in a fight. Skills: - Dense: (-1 to Intelligence but +2 to toughness) - Dumb But Lovable: (+1 to Charismatic actions) - Oh Man, You're In Trouble Now: (+1 Intimidation actions) Wielded: - 5x100cm Magite Pole: Nothing more than a metal pole of magically sensitive steel, often used in reinforced buildings. - Slugg Gun: A handgun containing 5 large lead pellets in a repeating magazine. The recoil and weight is such that few can wield it accurately. Most prefer something more 'elegant' - however something has to be said for the ol' Slugg's reliability. Spellbook / Design Portfolio - Slugg Round: Information on how to create slugg rounds. - Clockwork Loader: Information on how to build a clockwork loader for weapons. Inventory: (/10 slots) - Bowler Hat - XL Suit with Morskorj Family Crest - Map of the Local Area Condition/s: None ______________________________
Rotor Seven, Fairy of Ancient Rust Appearance: A small, corroded iron cube, hovering erratically with at least three pairs of helicopter blades spinning every which way. Every few seconds, its curved exhaust pipes belch thick black smoke and showers of sparks. As you inspect it, the closed dome at its front opens and projects a flickering image of a human eye. It is staring right at you. Conditions: Teeny (cannot be attacked)
Harold's made a choice. But what is it?

"Uh, what exactly are we up against here?" Skeev asks either of the two. "Well, ♥♥♥♥," replies the Older Rifle, "That's those bloody Magi again. They don't let it rest, do they?" The other man answers by loading a magazine and pulling a round into his rifle's chamber with a dramatic shick ker-click.
Outside and against the wall to the left is a steel ladder that leads to the very top of the tower, otherwise the crouch-height wall cover goes all the way around the 10m-wide spire-like building. Although, the Spire itself ironically towers over this building by many stories.
Appearance: A very small, lean person. About 5' 6", slender, short blonde hair. Skills: - Sniper (+1 to long-range firing) - Piercing Shot (+1 to armored targets) - Agile (+1 to climbing) Wielded: - Long-range bolt-action rifle with attached bayonet (6/6 rounds) - Boot dagger Design Portfolio - Ammunition Schematic (Requires: brass tubing, gunpowder, metalwork tools.) Inventory: (6/10 slots) - Health Potion (+5 health levels) - Health Potion (+5 health levels) - Field Medical Kit (+5 health levels) - Field Medical Kit (+5 health levels) - Gun ammo (10 magazines of 6 rounds ea) - Compass Conditon/s Light Armour (+1 to Defence) _______________________________
Kiop, Fairy of Fire (Yoman987) Appearance: Small red tufts of reddish-orange mist float in a sphere around a small flame. Two white pinpricks on either side blink in unison, as if they were eyes. Condition/s: Teeny (Cannot be attacked)

The actions being posted are for roll 3, right? And the battle begins in roll 5 or 6?

I'm guessing so. Everyone needs a chance to place themselves, and then we can begin with the action.
Also, I'm unsure of when to introduce my fairy, because I don't know what the general populace would think of a fairy following someone around. How would they react in this world? Would it be totally attention-drawing, or somewhat odd, or not even worth a mention? I'd appreciate it Caek could answer that, being the story director person 'round here.

I'm running with this, and I'm going to in introduce my fairy in roll 5/6 when the battle begins.
Speaking of that; caek: Do the Magi use any kind of artillery magic, say like, fire mortars? :3

I should have given my character a magic bucket of refilling water.

When you decide to introduce your tech fairy is at your discretion, it would be somewhat odd, but there are NPCs who have tech fairies themselves, like Lord Robert, who has a tech fairy.

Yes, the magi circle on the top of the Spire will be acting like artillery, but so will the Olvitium army be using magical artillery.
Think fire balls, ice shards, magical shockwaves, etc but on a larger scale.

Tarik nods, placing a large hand on Harolds shoulder. " " Lost for words instead he checks his Slugg is still strapped to his belt and takes the magsteel pole from the doorway as he exits out into the town. As the clouds gather in the opposite skies he feels a tremor of unease, mumbling to himself he takes a look around the streets.
(eyeing expectant faces, watching where the crowd is traveling, trying to pickup a general vibe of how the public is. Or alternatively taking a last look around the desolate streets.)

Introduction roll as in when the player characters show up? Or is there something I'm missing here?
