"Oh, gods, this is just not our day, is it?" Wait seven seconds, then unstrap myself and move quickly to a firing port and prepare to engage.

Re: [SoRtD] Adventures of the Ulysses, Pt. 1
Harzipan/Nikolai Petrouski
Niko stands in the back of the APC and levels his SMG at the group of oncomers, squeezing off a pair of quick 3-round bursts...
Nikolai rolls: 9! Unknowns roll: 2-2: 0! Ow.
The gunfire rips through the three in front, the shorter 10mm rounds tearing through soft flesh and vitals, just as the designers intended. The survivors of the first wave scatter instinctively, to avoid the gunfire as much as to avoid tripping over the dead, but weave around, converging on the ramp.
A few more pile up at the gate and start filtering through.
[ T7 SMG: 22/28 ]
---
Miggles/Dirk Mason - N/A
Dirk maneuvers his K77A for a clearer shot, but Nikolai’s luck... well...
Dirk rolls: 5. Unknowns roll: 7-2: 5! A tie.
The heavy gunfire from the K77A forces them to scatter again, driving them back for a few more seconds. A couple near the gate get hit as well, but the K77A’s bullets are tuned more towards tackling body armour than squishy meaty things, and so the wounds aren’t immediately lethal.
[ K77A MAR: 140/150 ]
---
TheKebbit/Havelock Dagenham - N/A
There’s nothing for you to shoot out the very narrow windows, and anything out there has scattered anyway. Might as well save ammo and keep an eye out for now.
---
Izen/CD-V5 - N/A
With Niko and Dirk scattering the nearest hostiles, CD-V5 elects to turn the turret on the group gathering near the gate.
CD-V5 rolls: ...3. Unknowns roll: 9-2: 7!
The group somehow instinctively scatters moments before the rounds strike, throwing up dirt and dust from the road surface..
Well, at least you got their attention? Or maybe that was a bad thing.
---
Fail Flail/Grif Mason - N/A
Grif fires wildly into the mob further back with his pistol in one hand as he retracts the rear ramp with the other.
Grif rolls: 6-1: 5. Unknowns roll: 7-2: 5. Another tie.
One round clips one of them in the shoulders, finishing off one of the ones Dirk wounded, but the other two shots go wide.
[ Marine Pistol: 7/10 ]
---
caekdaemon/Bob Jones - N/A Even before the ramp is fully closed, Jones floors it. There’s a sickening crunch and the APC lurches as it accelerates, then hammers through the shattered remains of the gates. Guess one of them tried to flank around and got flattened.
---
Traumahawk/Georgii Alekseyvich Vorotyntsev - N/A Unfortunately for Georgii, with the main mob behind the APC and the ramp closed, there are no firing ports with a line of sight on anything at the moment. He remains in position as the Bob floors the APC through the gate, though, in case anything tries to come around the edges of the compound, covering the left side of the road since Havelock has the right side for now.
---
Saber Squad - N/A Something just made a very angry roaring sound, and it sounds a lot bigger than those runts you were fighting.
Well, looks like momma’s angry now, judging by something else crashing through the forest and coming closer by the second. Time to see how fast this APC can go!
---
The Mob - N/A They seem to be getting their act together, and a couple of slightly larger specimens are appearing amongst them. As they do, the smaller ones seem encouraged, and redouble their charge. The APC is just a tiny bit faster than them, but they’re not giving up yet.

Sit tight while we GTFO. If anything comes into my tiny firing arc, gun it down.

Rather then Bob Jones being the name of a individual, The Bob is the title. Wherever there is a adventure somewhere, whether in space, in the medieval ages, in the past, in the future, in a alternate reality of even in a demonic dimension, there will be a Bob there, ready for action. Everyone knows The Bob never rests. Some say, he is a ageless being who resurrects weeks after death. Others dismiss that as hogwash. But no one knows, nor can explain, why all The Bobs are identical. Anyhow. "Giving her all she's got sir!"FASTER FASTER FASTER. Aim for flat ground or tarmac though if it pops up.

Trying not to laugh out loud over here.

"Marines, how do you like your aliens in the morning?" Use luck and toss a frag out the fireing slit.

*while grinning widely * "Deep fried, extra crispy, pickled onions on the side, SIR!" See if I can get a clear arc of fire on one of the incoming large hostiles. If so, open fire. If not, see if CD-V5 would switch spots with me. (if no)"Yo, SeeDee, I ain't got no shot down here. Mind if we switch out? After all, I'm heavy weapons certified!"

Re: [SoRtD] Adventures of the Ulysses, Pt. 1
TheKebbit/Havelock Dagenham - N/A
Doot doot nothin’ to shoot.
------------------------------------------------------------------
caekdaemon/Bob Jones - N/A
There’s something of a road leading towards... probably the outskirts of Taris, you’re not sure.
The Bob feels Lucky. Perhaps the gods are smiling on him.
------------------------------------------------------------------
Harzipan/Nikolai Petrouski
Chairs. Bottles. Dirk’s foodboxes. Nothing to see here.
[ T7 SMG: 22/28 ]
------------------------------------------------------------------
Miggles/Dirk Mason - N/A
You see things, you see them with your eyes! All you see are tree-- oh hello, what’s that?
[ K77A MAR: 140/150 ]
------------------------------------------------------------------
Izen/CD-V5 - N/A
CD-V5 levels the turret cannons at the largest hostiles in the mob, and fires!
CD-V5 rolls: 9! Unknowns roll: 7!
The whudwhudwhudwhud of autocannon fire rumbles through the forest. One of the leaders is torn to shreds; another round meant for it keeps going and tears up a runt behind it. Another of the leaders is badly wounded, and collapses in a heap. But the pack continues the chase!
------------------------------------------------------------------
Fail Flail/Grif Mason - N/A
Grif pulls one of the frag grenades off his harness, and manages to wing it out a firing slit.
Grif rolls: 5. Unknowns roll: 3.
Grif’s Luck remains unspent. The grenade goes off in time to hit the front of the horde, dropping a couple of the faster ones. Sometimes taking the lead is a bad thing...
[ Marine Pistol: 7/10 ] - Item Lost: Frag Grenade
------------------------------------------------------------------
Traumahawk/Georgii Alekseyvich Vorotyntsev - N/A
Support weapons qualified, sure. But the APC’s autocannons don’t really fit into that category, especially given the means of operation we’re talking about here.
Your flank arc doesn’t have-- sweet mother of god that thing is huge!
------------------------------------------------------------------
Saber Squad - N/A
As the APC roars down the dusty little road as fast as it can go, a huge version of the smaller fellas comes crashing out of the forest to the port side of the APC, pounding after it with surprising speed for something the size of a small house. The scythes look like they could rend a tank in half, and it has vicious-looking fangs.
It also looks to be much more heavily armoured than the smaller ones, and possesses some additional weapon limbs. Fortunately, none of them look like they might be ranged weapons.
------------------------------------------------------------------
The Mob - N/A
The horde is still trying to keep up, albeit slowly losing ground. If this were rough terrain, they might have an advantage, but the APC has the upper hand (wheel?) on roads.
