This is a game I need to play. A lot of my friends play it and I don't play enough of these types of games. I feel like I should.
From all the complex chatter and comparisons to DotA I assume it takes time to learn this game?

Its an easy thing to learn. Technique and Strategy take a long time.

The big thing is learning the differences it has to DotA, and of course the general feel to it.
It should be easy to ease into. But once you learn the basics, you have to spend way more time practicing technique, and situational with champions, usually by doing a gorillian bot games. My friend Evan and I are both pro, Evan way more than me, probably as good as Chauster; but we still play bots to practice techniques with essential champions.
You really need to learn to play champions like Ashe, Annie, etc to even play most carries correctly.

Or however you spell their names. I don't particularly like or care about LoL, but whatever. I'm going to see if I can find another game to get back into before I end up wasting way too much time on LoL when I could be wasting that time on other games. Like ElSword. (But... If I end up playing LoL for a while, I'll just be kungfuchan13 Masamiganishi, playing as Caitlyn. Maybe another hero later, but for now, it's Cait.)
