Post How to make craft more durable>
recently i discovered the unitech mammoth and it's pretty ♥♥♥♥ awesome dropping in troops with fire support.


my question is how can i make it more sturdy/takes many more shots to destroy, the main body of the craft, the two engines and the two turrets.

You're looking for the 'GibWoundLimit' variable wherever the craft parts are stored in the ini files

One way to do this would be to bump
Health = 100
to
Health = ######(any number)
but that would give you extra cash on re-entry to orbit.

Another way is to alter the
GibImpulseLimit = 55000
GibWoundLimit = 350
to your liking, this will make the price remain the same, along with the mass, and let it resist heavy ground fire.(dont forget about the engines)

Alternatively, change the material the craft is made out of to something stronger/define a new material that shrugs off small arms fire, like metal slug's tank metal

Increasing the health alone is not a good method, it's best to create custom wounds that deal less damage. Mass doesn't affect resistance to damage, and as Craft require a certain combination of mass / thrust it would not be wise to adjust this.

The best method would be to use custom wounds along with increasing the GibWound and GibImpulse limits. JointStrength between engines and craft could also be increased, though I've never seen an instance when an engine detaches itself after taking enough impulse damage.

i increased both the gib variables with no success.


I'm gonna make them out of a tougher material.


meh, or i could just give up and deploy a raptor instead

Well, jacking up the GibWoundLimits won't help if you're under a lot of fire already, unless you make them ludicrously high - but even then, you'd have to do what Kettenkrad says and change the Wounds themselves to have lower BurstDamage.

The most important stat for material durability is StructuralIntegrity. Anything above about 500 should (at a guess) make you fairly proof against most standard assault rifles, machineguns and gatlings. Crank it up higher if you need resistance to fancier, more powerful things.

Just take in mind that the craft will still get knocked/shoved around by impacts, and could thus get grounded or taken out of action even if it can't be damaged by other means.

A higher Bounce value might reduce the amount of knockback taken, reducing energy absorbed by deflecting more of it away. Don't quote me on that though - I haven't experimented with CC's physics much.
