That really took a lot out of you, being contacted like that again could be a major hindrance in particular situations, like combat, talking to someone or standing up

After riding the elevator to the top, you enter the command room. Every wall in the room is covered with some sort of screen or terminal, crew are running around with sheafs of paper and holograms are dancing about left right and centre. The air is rich with chaos, and some of you find yourselves at home with this sort of anarchy, some, not so much. The Captain nor the officer are in sight.

Having been connected to the Collective its entire life, you can imagine what it would be like to suddenly lose that connection. It is the same as being without eyes to Black 19.
