Re: Art Dump
Thanks MLC, that seems like a nice guide to the basics! Do you know of any more like that one? I really want and should try my hand at that some more, though I'm thinking of getting a tablet first.

Your lines are very clean and refined, they look nice.

Re: Art Dump
About that line tutorial, I think it's especially interesting when pencil artists avoid using lines, it gives their work a very unique and almost painted look to it. An example (not mine ofc): http://i711.photobucket.com/albums/ww11 ... o-3-lo.jpgOr maybe it's charcoal, I don't know. I still haven't gotten a tablet but I wanted to do something digital so here's an axe I designed Or Pickaxe Tomahawk, Pickahawk @Geti, nice heads, the second one really has an Andrew Loomis style to it.

Re: Art Dump
Awesome Madmax, as Major said your metal looks extremely well defined. The wood looks maybe a little strange on the middle of the handle, the grain pattern there I think? Either way I love it!
Thanks Matty, I redraw and draw over my lines way too much xD

Thanks guys. I'll definitely work on wood grain textures more later.

Re: Art Dump
Wheeeee, progress has been made! Lighting ♥♥♥♥ it up bigtime, but suspension is now in place(quite fond of the design.). I also made a front end and added brakes all round.(Most useless usage of polygons ever. Over 500 poly's each, not visible from any other angle than this, and that is with the suspension not yet fitted to the right side. THE QUESTION REMAINS, the exhausts, WHAT SHOULD I DO WITH THEM?!?!

Re: Art Dump
Messed around in photoshop over some hours, doing some more smudge abuse. Face is a bit off, something with the eyes I think. I might've failed a bit with the blue/orange contrast too

Re: Art Dump
Smudge abuse indeed. Try upping the hardness of the brushes, everything is very soft and blurred right now. It's difficult to tell what's wrong proportionally due to the softness but I think the nose and mouth could be brought up some. Overall not bad construction, that smudging isn't helping though.

Re: Art Dump
Thanks for the advice Madmax! I used hard brushes.. To paint down sploshes of colour and smear those around with the smudge and liquify tools. It's hard making fluid lines with a mouse. You use a mouse right? How do you get such nice lines for your non pixel-art stuff? I find it almost impossible to draw a good line or shape with the mouse without re-doing it at least 100 times. Also, do you use any custom brushes?
