Re: The Lounge
I never found it necessary to try and make fun of fanfiction authors, they seem to do a good enough job themselves

Re: The Lounge
I have a mohawk. I was going to a Flogging Molly concert yesterday, and decided there was never a better time to get a stupid haircut. It looks awesome. Also, I noticed I was the first one to take their shirt off at the concert. Guess I win.

Because of this, if you read the fanfiction alone you'll be entirely lost on who is who, and probably not get whatever joke I would be trying to get across.

Never thought about that, that's a good point. I imagine that in that aspect writing fanfiction must actually be pretty different from writing a story using original characters and worlds then, since a lot of the descriptional stuff is assumed to be unecessary.

Re: The Lounge
I'd stick with different, since if you're freed of the constraint of developing characters you should have a higher standard of quality for your comedy/drama/whatever.
Somewhat like the difference between building structures in Minecraft in survival and creative mode. Survival structures are expected to be smaller, more functional, and less showoffy, and any amount of those qualities present are awarded high praise due to the difficulty. Creative structures should be grand, decorative, and without an emphasis of functionality, due to a creative player's increased capabilities.

Re: The Lounge
Even if they were ready for a banjo, they can't be ready for a banjoing as hardcore as you're making it sound.
Unrelated, just microwaved my brother's library card for a minute on accident; taking bets on if the magnetic strip is ruined or not. Edit: scratch that, the card only has a barcode. Well, that makes this a lot less interesting. :/

Re: The Lounge
I'm currently using a dying 1TB hard drive that is in the process of dying.
It's struggling, but manages to hold on to life. Thankfully.
