It's so true. There was this other movie, I can't remember it's name but it also had robots. It was just like that.

Just imagine if the Matrix integrated Tangent Universes. It would be the most confusing thing ever.

I can finally SEE this thread now I've cleaned out and banned the mountains of spambots posting. Christ you do not know how annoying it is to be a moderator here.
I'm just going to throw a reply in because I can't bear to see the spambot signups continue when I know there's a possibly easy fix.
To put it bluntly, image-based CAPTCHA sucks ass for protection against spambots, except maybe those new image-assembly ones. This is made worse by the fact they are often difficult for legitimate users to parse and enter correctly.
Swap to the Question & Answer verification module. Get some good questions with simple answers that anyone with even a handful of braincells can answer (they dont even need to be Cortex Command-related), and I'm fairly confident it will solve a vast amount of the spambot problems. Another forum I administrate used to use reCAPTCHA (the only CAPTCHA system that tends to be readable, I find) for the longest time, but every day without fail, we'd get a new spambot. I was getting pretty tired of cleaning them out every couple of days or so, so I swapped to Q&A on a whim and set up a bunch of no-brainer questions. We haven't seen a spambot since, and it hasn't impeded legitimate user signups in the slightest.

I made this into a screensaver.
Go on, humor yourselves with a hilarious installation. (And a shitty .ico file that didn't want to work)

Re: The Lounge
The problem is buying 1000 captchas worth of human interaction is dirt cheap.

This^ There is basically no automated way to keep spambots out anymore, the offer HK is citing here was $2 for 1000 captchas beaten (by humans being paid a few cents for every 100 captchas they performed or something).

Re: The Lounge
Just for chuckles, I switched out the CAPTCHA with security questions a couple hours ago. In that time, we've had at least two more bots get through. So, presumably, as Duh and HKU have pointed out, our problem is beyond CAPTCHAs being easy to crack.

I'd say we're pretty far from ignoring it. Have you ever actually seen a bot on the site?

Re: The Lounge
Ah well. Figured it might have been worth a shot, but I guess the forums are large enough for it to be worth actually paying people instead of running bots?
Can't win 'em all.

Gamefallout isn't bots run amuck, it's simply a copy of some other fallout forum, used to hide the fact it's probably used for child porn or some other illegal activity.
