Re: The Lounge
It was cool, you know, some days ago I was listening to music in my phone, I've got all my memory used up on music, pretty much like 480 songs. So, I was listening, and I was falling asleep, when suddenly I heard "Dooooooooooooon't let meeee dooooooown, don't let me dooooooooooooown" and I woke up completely and had a flashback to a lot of moments.
The Beatles are awesome.

I listen to sad songs like these to feel better. You should too.

Re: The Lounge
Looks good to me, how big's the power supply? I would think you'd want something on the order of 650W+

Re: The Lounge
Its 500 watts.
The people building it didn't say anything about the power so I trust em. I'm not too much of a hardware guy, all I want is a performance machine. My best friend says 500 will be more than enough. What will happen if its too little? Also, I'm sad, will only use it on saturday... Friday I'm going out with a girl.

Re: The Lounge
Sounds like a sweet set up! Though I'm not sure about the 500 W PSU either. It's probable that your specs fit within that and I don't know how much power your set up would require at max. Either way it's always good to have a bit more power than needed so that the PSU isn't often running at full capacity, and it allows for more upgrade possibilities later on.

Re: The Lounge
500 is usually enough unless you have some crossfire asshatery or something fancy involving four or five hard drives.

Re: The Lounge
I have far weaker parts than that, (2.8GHz, 4gb, GTS450) and I fried my cheap 480W PSU from intensive use and mediocre ventilation, so I imagine a well made and maintained 500W will work for you, but won't be in the absolutely-zero-worry total-overkill zone. Then again I don't know hardware well, so consider that to be a poorly educated guess.

It's got more to do with quality instead of quantity in this case. A good 500W PSU will cost a hell of a lot more than a mediocre 650.

Nvidia's 560 and 560 Ti are great performance to price wise from what I've seen.
I'm not that aware of AMD's stuff, I've always had Nvidia/Intel hardware and never had nor wanted AMD, I don't know why. I think I have an irrational fear or aversion of what I don't know.
