Re: The Lounge
Does anyone know about a good free IDE for C#?
It's really frustrating when you want to get started and you can't.

Re: The Lounge
Visual Studio is awesome, but not free. Something called MonoDevelop and SharpDevelop too, but I don't know anything about them.

Re: The Lounge
I've already tried buying it, but I won't bother that much for anything again. Ever.
I'll ask Uncle Google about it.

Re: The Lounge
I've gotta say #develop isn't anything I really liked, so I'm just gonna download visual studio.

Re: The Lounge
You should be able to get VS for free with a students license, that's how I got it anyways. And yeah, it's probably the best C# IDE you can get. Also check out Microsoft's XNA framework if you're going to make anything game-like, it's very useful.

Re: The Lounge
Why does everyone have a Katawa Shoujo avatar. Dammit Areku it's all your fault.
I played it for a while and got to the Kenji ending and quit because ♥♥♥♥ doing everything over again until I get the chance to actually react and change my ending.

I'm mainly learning C# to help my dad on his work, he does a lot of manual work that could be automatized, and he already automatized some things using excel, but I'm sure he needs something stronger. But I wanted to know, does anyone know a good difference between C# and C++? Like performance, easy-ness to code, etc? I read that C++ is faster than C#, but C# can be used to progam programs faster, but I'm not sure how real might that be.
