For what reason do you play Cortex Command?
Is it for the campaigns and scenarios? Is it for the (semi)realistic physics? Is it for the ludicrous gibs and explosions? Is it for the mods? Is it for mod making? ect.
I personally play CC since I find it's a fun way to learn the basic structures of programming. Even though Lua isn't a "real" programming language (I believe it's just a programming language extension right?), the basic programming structure and logic is the same, plus it's just awesome seeing a bunch of lines you've typed out manifest itself as some sort of mysterious power in the game.
So for what reason do you play CC?

Physics, crazy things that can happen while your playing like: (Drop-ship engines raining from the sky and chopping your head off), then mods

Asklar has pretty much voiced how I feel about this game, it has allot of flaws and may always have em, but its one of a kind.

I play for the engine, direction, and mostly what Asklar means. So much can be done, it's brilliant. Being able to inject your designs and add some tangible play is always attractive for the self responsible playstyle and modding.

I play for that moment where you blow up a dropship and it's engine travels twice across the map then lands on the face of the dude infront of you.

You can do an entire game in Lua if you want. https://love2d.org/I you want to know more about the difference between Lua and a "real" programming language, I encourage you to look at what's been said here. --- In CC, I like the physics and all the fun going with it. Well, I was playing back when it worked with Wine. I really hope Linux support comes soon. I know the devs are working on it, but it's kinda long.

Pretty much this, or when the engine takes out another dropship and the the burning wreckage crushes the dread that had your guys pin.

Re: For what reason do you play Cortex Command?
1) I love CC because it has unique gameplay every time you play even the same map. 2) I love CC because none can know what will happen in every single match. 3) I love CC because of his pretty fun physics. 4) I love CC for its pixel terrains that can be totally modified. 5) I love CC because (imho) it doesn't need mods to be fun.
