Oh god...
I feel dissapointed caek, my lack of hard drive space is kicking my nuts again. I'll attempt to nuke and pave everything, but I really doubt it since I share this computer with my sisters.

Re: The Lounge
I need some help with Microsoft Office Excel.
Its a really interesting problem, and I need to solve it to finish this piece of work I have.
Have you ever seen a Excel spreadsheet with a built in tree view. I don't mean a form, but straight into the god damned spreadsheet itself, without using a user form.
Anyone have a clue how to do it? I've seen ones with it, but never knew how to do it.
I basically just need it to be so that I click a little plus button or something, it drops down all the information. Not a drop down box, because that can't be edited easily, and disappears once its had a option selected. It's kinda similar to the tree view built into explorer, but on a far smaller scale, and not to show different destinations, but different information.

Re: The Lounge
Well guys, long time no see, eh? Been out studying for college admission tests. Not the last two weeks, though, I'm on vacation now. Oh also I adopted a kitten. Then said kitten ran away, and I was sad as fudge. Now I'm taking a trip to the mountains, to try and unwind a bit. Oh also, has anyone else here played Katawa Shoujo? Or for that matter, it's action-packet casual-gamer mass-market spinoff? I frankly found it quite entertaining, even deep, if you're into visual novels. If you ignore the occasional *ahem* rusty tubas and filthy trombones *cough*, it's almost possible to forget that it was made mainly by 4channers.

Re: The Lounge
The US is starting to automate its armies by reducing the number of people and increasing the numbers of drones. I think its a great idea. No one mourns when a drone is shot down. Drones are cheaper then a fighter craft and its pilot, they stop only for repairs, reloads and refuels. And in around 3 or 4 years, they will probably be more efficient at shooting things down then people are. Meaning they can out gun a human pilot in a one vs one battle.I support this.

Nonsequitorian wrote: But they're often controlled by people. Of course. Its still alot cheaper though. One pilot could control perhaps a squadron of drones simultaneously. And who know's, as technology advances we could be removed from the equation of drone control. After all, last time I checked, machines have faster reactions then me, it don't suffer from weariness or even emotion for that fact. They would not freeze in combat, not for a second, unless there was a bug with the software or if they was ordered to. Besides, I kinda like the idea of military robots. Interesting to see the first law of robotics does not apply.

Because machines sure as hell don't do those things now. They don't have reaction times at all really, as they aren't smart enough to know much of what to react to. Being able to "tirelessly and emotionlessly carry out tasks" requires actually being able to complete the task unsupervised.

Re: The Lounge
So these robots would be networked together and programed to co-operate, chances are you would need a main server to organise them and to evaluate potentia- When my children ask me why we are living underground in a nuclear apocalyptic hell scape, constantly hunted down and eaten alive by robots, I shall tell them it all started here...

A computer wouldn't really realize anything and so an entire squadron may have the problem, and they may all waste their ammo when taking off. Nah I am pretty happy with not having computers firing deadly weapons for me, especially the computers we have now, but feel free to continue arguing against imaginary me if you enjoy it

Re: The Lounge
To be honest if an UCAV takes off whilst discharging all of it's weaponry R&D surely hasn't done their job properly. In other words it simply doesn't happen.
Because R&D always does their job properly.
