Post Re: Internet Freedom
It's going to be hell when all of the REDACTEDSUFFIXES come to REDACTED to ruin everything. Many will lose their lives defending the shore.
I'm pretty sure half of you, or even more, are REDACTEDSUFFIXES (no wonder I hate half of your humor), so I'm saying redacted so I don't hurt anyone's feelings. This post might backfire.

Just connect the dots.

Hah, many internet web pages had to "black out" for people in here to even knew about the SOPA thing.

It's stupid, this thing has been going through the internet for a long while and now people know about it. I wonder what do they do on the internet.

This image pretty much sums up my opinion on SOPA:

Yes, that's the joke.

Get Desopa or MAFIAAFire if you would like to have freedom if these bills pass. Firefox has already taken a stand for free internet, they were asked to take these down and they flat out refused. Here are the links.

Really the only fix now is to call, email, or somehow contact your representatives (if you're in the US) and add your voice to the multitude trying to get them to see reason. Even then, we just have to hope they see the light in our numbers (like they're supposed to, listen to the majority) and do the right thing.

Check your facts bud, avaaz has proven pretty effective at helping to stop Rupert Murdoch who's the owner of what is probably considered the most huge and evil media corporation out there. Look right over here if you want examples: http://www.avaaz.org/en/highlights--media-and-internet.php

And what's the point of painting a negative light on an effort to stop this? Bashing someone for doing something is the worst and most unconstructive kind of apathy and this is coming from someone who is, on the whole quite partial to apathy and its less conceptual cousin laziness.
Also if you don't have an opinion on this whole situation you probably should since odds are it'll affect you too, albeit less heavily than many, but that's really up to you. But if you have no opinion why post in the thread? What could be gained? Or did I completely misunderstand your previous post (if so, sorry about that)?

Hey, y'know those annoying posts we get every so often? The ones the bots post about buying things or visiting some site or whatev? Well, won't that go against us? I suppose as long as we (the mods) make sure those post don't become public...

Also when the bill gets passed I'll post the DNS server IP on here for everyone to use.

Well, why don't you just go lock yourself up in a dark closet then and give up?

Not me. I'll get my arse outside in the damn freezing cold to join in protests against this SOPA/PIPA piece of shite. Meanwhile, consider that petition signed.

Yeah I'm siding with the government on this one. SOPA is only a problem because it's designed to ABUSE copyright.
This MegaUpload thing is a clear cut example of how to go about a copyright violation. Gather evidence, make sure you've got a solid case, and THEN you can lock the ♥♥♥♥ down on them.

Except MegaUpload was known for being responsive to DMCA takedowns, and it's based in Hong Kong. If nothing else, I'd say the US government is overstepping its boundaries a wee bit. Still, I suppose it's better than blanket attacks on everyone like SOPA/PIPA.
