ok guys to stop this "Like WoW bull♥♥♥♥."
ToR is Story driven HEAVILY Story driven, The only Wow Related thing ToR has is PVP and the GUI and even then they're both Different in a way.
Saying it's Like WoW because of that is bascily saying Halo is Like Call of Duty, call of duty is like doom Doom is like Whatever the first FPS game to exist
like wise with Any damn game to exist.
and for one i'm Damn as hell sure anyone who wants to play / get ToR is mostly doing it for the story and not the sake of playing a MMORPG for the rest of their sad lives.
Geez this is why i hate loads of MMORPG discussions, Almost as bad as the whole HoN vs LoL vs Dota(2) idiots.
Luckly the MMORPG community have some sensibleness people.
[/rant]

As for Bioware, i have a feeling i'm one of the very few people who really didn't enjoy mass effect or the first Dragon age. either way after KOTOR 2 i haven't really been into many of their games at least untill ToR which caught my interest but i'll leave that for a bit later when the prices go down and i get a better computer.

And speaking ToR itself the only main thing i got against it is the whole "everyone is human or human shape" and everyone will clearly go for Empire as a Sith or if they go on the republic it's a jedi.

and speaking of classes i never really like spilting the sith's and jedis down certain classes, that said it more of my own personal choice really i perfer allowing my own way to go down like in Kotor where you can choose which force powers and abilites to unlock but each of the classes have a different set of unique abilites, i mean for example in the films Mace windo the most epic badass jedi, in terms of classes he's obvious a guardian (forgot what the super tank jedi class was in ToR after level 10) and then you take Yoda who is also obvious a jedi Consular.. now that narrow down to the generic epic fighter and epic force user (as the former and latter are in there own rights not to say Windo sucks in force powers or yoda sucks in combat but yoda more focus on his force power within combat while Mace just focus on his skill) But then you get people like Count Dooku, obi wan, Qui gon Jin, Luke skywalker to some Degree Kyle Kartan etc, they're are a number of jedis and siths whom is equally as powerful in both saber combat as well as force powers. why can't i choose a class to be one of them, For example a Sith inquistor class with two lightsabers and a range of different force powers, or a sith Assassin with more combat abilites than force powers. From what i know they're mostly Class related, i'm sure there a number of sith who used lighting and be sith powerhorse.

which then lead to the next thing. from what i know it just light side or dark side. each side get a bonus.. Why no Netural bonus? why no ability to go the path of revan (which was netural using both Sith and Jedi to balance each other out)
SPOILER ABOUT ONE OF THE SITH QUEST LINES DON'T OPEN IF YOU DON'T WANNA BE SPOILED

really that all i got against ToR which despite the massive wall of text it's just minor details related to your Chara. i can easily ignore it but it just somthing that will obviously bug me.

edit: two new post as i typed this? awesome.

GW2 is going to be fairly different from the prequel, they've thrown out almost everything but the setting (and even that has advanced somewhat).
There's no holy trinity of Tank/DPS/Healer, everyone is the equivalent of DPS but has a variety of support and healing skills that they are expected to use on themselves, with more of an emphasis on dodging or using abilities to counter damage. Combat itself is more action based, with minimal targeting and combo moves.
They really do have some rather radical and innovative plans, it just remains to be seen if things they are throwing out in an attempt to be different are things that everyone else kept around because they were better than every alternative.

Also @Kain, I like SWTOR and have nothing against it but it's still basically WoW with a different setting and arguably better starting quests. Combat, the talent system and even a fairly large number of the talents themselves are just taken wholesale from Warcraft.
And that's fine! I like Warcraft, Warcraft is clearly a model that works and there is nothing wrong with more Warcraft, but it's still Warcraft.

and by that logic Halo is call of duty. ._.;

i know in the core it will be like WoW cause WoW was the first (or i think it was the first) biggest and successful MMORPG so clearly in a common sense the best choice to do is create a game simliar to WoW not only to ensure it will be successful (in some ways) but to also look into the WoW fanbase, i'm sure there a large number of WoW fans who also like star wars and since ToR follow a simliar WoW function in how nearly all MMORPG works (successful / well known ones at least) they be openly accepted to it.
And to be honest i doubt any game will take WoW off the throne any time soon.

same reason why CoD is on the throne for best FPS ever Sadly.

But really ToR has just as many differences as well as likes that WoW has.

To strip it down

Combat Roughly the same with a few minor Differences.
Quest routine Again the same with a few minor differenices.
which is mainly the Core part of the game.

then take into account the amount of voice acting, i believe if i remember correctly which may not be right that they'res 50 hours of Voice acting.
And from watching a few WoW videos, of late game stuff. i don't see or rather hear many voice acted lines.
now this could still applies to ToR but a lot of side quest had voice acted lines and mostly only the unimportant unnamed people don't (could be wrong however)
and then the Story zones(for those who dunno each class have a different story in certian areas and protected with a zone, only you and your party can enter that zone and everyone else will be invisiable i assume but the NPC giving the feeling of Singleplayer story stuff and such)
Which again lead to story mode, now i played a on a Private server of WoW just to really shut someone up and from what i know. almost No story. infact i barely got interested since they're was a VERY lack of story, But this was before any expansions for WoW came out so again this may be different. However ToR is very story driven.

to stop myself from droneing on. the best way to really say it, it has Features that WoW has. and features that it doesn't have and possablely for the best really.

but really this the major problem i have with Many video games, they're get compared which is fine, to top list games but then they also follow the route of " it just a X game copy " which annoys me really. biggest example was when space marine came out, Loads of people just said it's a gear of war copy or a God of war copy.

But really what i seen in ToR, it's basicly a MMO KOTOR 3 but without the Dice rolls in anymore ( not that i'm aware of) as well as a improved GUI system.

The core part of the game is the bit I feel is important, but I'd also say that call of duty and Halo ARE fairly similar games so there's that.
Voice acting is nice but I'm never going to count it as more than a bonus, it's not enough for me to say that the game isn't just WoW with a shiny paint job, because in my mind it is.

Also yeah, you missed a lot with expansions. Some people complain there's too much story development in WoW at the moment in fact, as it means they are less able to jump around levelling zones quite as randomly as they used to be ;)

i think it more of a subjected point of view towards it, as in viewing the very basic core elements it just a Shiny paint job. Which can also be applied to every single game to exist, Halo is a shiny paint job to call of duty, Call of duty is one to Quake / unreal that is one to Doom etc.

while in my case i look to what they do Better / differenctly such as the quake / unreal games being a lot faster pace require more Precision and stuff, While Call of duty halo and doom it more of a mindless Shooting fun for lulz.

For me WoW i could never get into never found fun just a endless pointless Grind. however i don't really see ToR doing that. i think what the main differenices is the fact ToR has a goal, it has a couple of chapters story lines side quest related things and such, While WoW just feel like you just got shoved in a world enjoy figuring out where to go.

While ToR give you a story in a RPG style way.

WoW and ToR are just two different coffees, one's a mocha ones a Latte, both have some stuff the same while the other stuff are different and varies between different people really.

Hey, leave ME2 out of this. It's a great game, its just that EA decided to flip the ♥♥♥♥ out and go all commercialized on it.
Staying 'on topic' , it's an mmo. You grind for lvls, use tool bar abilities, theres pvp, pve and you have tech trees or whatever. But then all of them have their own little gimmick, some examples, TOR is a starwars mmo, spiral knights is a chibisteampunkzeldalike and WoW and EVE simply steal your soul most people who play WoW don't actually get anti-social, they start off like that and then play it because it’s a social environment in which they not only feel comfortable, but dominate in, true story.

Anyway, to each his own. Saying that, anyone heard of this gem?

I think of it as an Armoured Core\Spiralknight hybrid, but it works somehow.

most people in WoW (or any stigmatised game) aren't antisocial at all, but are pointlessly tarred in the same way bronies, homestuck readers, call of duty players and sports fans are
don't make me quote myself now

Actually Spiral Knights is more like a Chibi Steampunk Diablo-like. I would play it but I don't like Pay2Play games.
(You need to pay money for that special energy to enter dungeons. It recovers at a snailpace, and you need to idle overnight to get it.)
It was fun the first two days though. It needs a Pserver.

Also, going to stay out of this one @Metal and Kain

if i had an image macro for that Rick Perry campaign ad i would post it

i actually liked ME2, the guns didn't handle like helium-filled BB guns and the Lair of the Shadow Broker DLC was fantastic

if only the DLC didn't cost 30 something freaking dollars in total

EDIT: Sothe, I think Spiral Knights energy recharges when you're not logged in as well.
