Re: The Lounge
My girl and I are both bronies. We spent the night last night watching MLP from beginning to end again for maybe the fourth time in the past month. It's pretty awesome background music.

Re: The Lounge
it's Rather awkward with me and my girl, while i'm the nerdy dork, She's the girly .. well girl. but the conversations we have are quite hilarious. although i should really sit down and watch at least one ep of MLP before judging too much on it.
But still it was unexpected since i wasn't expecting to say anything along those lines.

Re: The Lounge
If you want first-timer recommendations, Season 1 I always recommend Party of One (episode 25) because it is the most universally enjoyable episode. Season 2, the two-part opening is pretty awesome, though if you haven't watched season 1's two-part opening it might ruin it for you. I don't particularly like season 1's opening, but it was necessary for the plot.

Re: The Lounge
Haven't watched Lucky Star but the PPG mix makes sense, the creator person (Lauren Faust) worked on PPG (and Fosters), and I think they both used Flash for animation (though I could be wrong on PPG, MLP definitely does use Flash).

Re: The Lounge
I guess that makes a lot of sense then.
To explain what Lucky Star is, it's that one anime for little girls watched by lots of young-medium adult males in Japan. (hahaha which one). The one with a blue haired main character (which one again, seriously). They all look like 7-8, but they're 16-17, yeah for real. It's an animoe and mango thing, maybe you can explain why they look 8.

Re: The Lounge
to be honest i belive they all look roughly the same, Cartoons that is, i mean between Ed edd n eddy, Johnny bravo Dexter lab, etc. i fail to see much differences between the artstyle. or i'm blind.
either way i'll most likely start on EP 1 and just see if it pulls me if not, i'll watch the ep you recommended to see if it does pull me.

Re: The Lounge
They look...completely different, that's an objective observation. I don't know how you could think they all look roughly the same.

Re: The Lounge
i think it just how it been layed out or how i feel most of the cartoons had the same style (with different characters of course) Or i don't remember them as well since the last time i seen any of the shows i mentioned was well.. Back when i was 15. which is almost 5 years now.

Re: The Lounge
I guess it takes a keen eye to notice some style differences.

Re: The Lounge
I go to a school with 90% stoners, gangsta posers at that. So none of them are openly into ponies.

Re: The Lounge
"Gangsta posers" usually aren't so bad, so long as you aren't a total ♥♥♥♥ to 'em. I mean, there're a few who are just an unsavory lot, but usually the whole "it takes two to tangle" thing holds true. GOLDEN RULE, ♥♥♥♥♥es.

I do not see why any exceptions need to be made for that.
