Post A problem with what seems to be a faulty line of directory.
Hey, ok so every time i try to run cortex command, (i have tried re-installing it on a different place on my pc but the game still wont run even when completely vanilla) But every time i do, i get

"Abortion in file .\System\ContentFile.cpp, line 516, because
Failed to load datafile object with the following path and name:
Base.rte/GUIs/Sounds/MenuEnter.wav
The last frame has been dumped to 'abortscreen.bmp'"

Yes, i have looked in Base.rte/GUIs/Sounds/ to see if MenuEnter.wav was there, and it is! completely healthy! So, any ideas on how to fix this would be greatly appreciated :)

Have you tried running Cortex as administrator, or running it from a directory you own (like somewhere in My Documents or the desktop)?

From what I've seen of this error, the solution is simple: don't push any buttons before the "LOADING" screen with the list of modules on the right hand side starts, or that error will pop up without fail.

Do you have a sound card on your computer? I recall there being an error where if your computer physically couldn't play the sound, it wouldn't let you play the game.
