Everyone has a burnout eventually, it's not a matter of whether you enjoy art or not. It might help you to start out very loose with large brushes only focusing on values and proportions, then you can start to sculpt out the mess into wheat it really looks like, that way you're consistently progressing instead of trying to get one line just right over and over. @MLC: Nice heads. They're all noticeably longer than they are wide however, maybe you could mix it up and make some short with large, deep craniums.

I see what you mean madmax, I'll try that next time I feel like drawing something.

It's not that I don't enjoy it when I start out. It just quickly becomes tedious and unrewarding.

This one is somewhat old.
I call her Alaska Locke, City 8/18 Administrator. Attempts to be "hip" and "cool", but just doesn't care overall.
This uses what I call "smearing", a technique like the one Madmax posted. What may also help you is using color spots like the set to the left. I use them as a reference to other artists and just to test which colors would look good.
An Argonian shitscribble done in college. In retrospect, the muzzle area looks a bit derpy.

Not incredibly super happy with that last one, managed to hopefully make it look less like he has a mane of clowns than he does in the official sprite but I think I've started falling back into that old trap of too many colours / not enough contrast. Shall try and claw my way free tomorrow.
Might just be because I accidentally made it half as large as any of the others despite possibly being the canon biggest one I've drawn.

Metal, your pokemon rock! I love the art style - what is it, cartoonish? Cell-shaded? I like it anyway.
If a picture can tell a thousand words, how many can a 'moving' picture tell? Millions?
Because the description of the video is clearly obvious in this thread.

Because you can't seek out information by yourself by checking out the Youtube description?
Oh well, lets stop this before it becomes toxic

I used an awesome song, pinpoint timing and the brilliance of my mind.
Also Adobe After Effects.

It's not really cel-shaded, I just like bright colours and aliased lines. Messed up a bit with that last one I posted by using too many shades without enough contrast, think I remembered how to draw for these two though (:
