Unless you're doing video encoding and rendering and whatnot on a regular basis the i7 offers little to no benefit over the i5 2500K. You might want to drop down, buy a decent heat-sink fan and give the i5 a bit of an overclock, if you fancy.

Re: Building a new PC!
Hmmmph the problem is I already paid the money and it must be getting montaged as I'm typing these. Actually I was going to buy a cheaper system or a decent laptop with an i5 cpu but one of my friends, who's a gaming freak, pointed out that I had been using the same unupgraded AMD 2500+, 1gig ram, 256mb Geforce 5700, 120 gb maxtor HD, and a philips flatsquare monitor since 2005 and encouraged me to buy the "future of gaming" as I wanted to play some decent games without thinking about if they would work or not. I don't know if I should be sad or happy:S. I will be dumping 1/3 of my salary for 5 months on this. Should I feel bad?

Well just enjoy your computer, I'd say. I can't really see anything in particular wrong with it - it'll perform well for whatever you want to do with it.

Hm, I'm not sure if this is the most appropriate place to ask this, but I don't want to create a whole new topic just for a simple question. Is it worth it buy a sound card? I've always used the onboard system on the mainboard, so I don't know if there are any significant improvements from buying a sound card. Specifically, I'm considering buying this card: http://us.store.creative.com/Sound-Blaster-XFi-XtremeGamer/M/B000J1F1BI.htmSuggestions?

Oh man, I'd kill for that graphics card. My PC is otherwise fairly powerful, but my graphics card is only a Radeon HD4870.
