Post Re: My Fabulous End of the World - Development Log
Well running the game set on the fastest setting , i've notice two major things, music seem to be lacking (if this was the result of faster performance of being set on fastest then i would suggest having this as a toggle option rather than just being with settings) as well as the headbobbing when moving seem to be really fast and jerky, and for a minor suggest i feel the gun recoil is a bit too much, even if i decide to shoot in burst.

Other than these, the game looks decent.

What do you mean exactly by "music seem to be lacking"?
I've tried setting my game on Fastest but I haven't noticed anything different or unusual with the music.

Hmm, I thought that headbobbing speed was okay but if you think it's too much I'll lower it a bit.
Yeah, I noticed that headbobbing doesn't work as it's supposed to on Fastest, thanks for telling me that.

I personally am quite comfortable with the amount of recoil (it's completely moddable so it totally depends on the gun). You're supposed to compensate for it by dragging your mouse down while firing.

Well, Music doesn't play what so ever.
The headbobbing when i move goes up and down Really fast for me (again it MAY just be my system)

And I'm aware with the gun but it feels a bit to much, again it could be with my system, I may try and record what it feels / looks in case I may have just got a faulty / corrupted download. that assuming Camstudio doesn't lag the crap out of my computer (and record sound too)

quick last second edit: Going to try the game again in case it works now and it may just be a odd thing with my PC itself which i feel i really should have tested the game again after i first played it.

Have you turned on music by editing ModData/settings.ini ? It's off by default.

Headbobbing is incredibly jerky on Fastest, I can easily fix that though. Thanks for telling me.

If recoil is too much it may be because your mouse sensitivity is too low, try changing it in settings.ini

it's off by default, and i forgot to mention i had it on windowed too.

edit: played it again, Music still off but the gun sound works (quite loud however although i always have my speakers on almost full volume cause i wear headphones almost 99.9% of the time, and sadly my headphone lower the volume.

Hmm, I have no idea why music wouldn't play on your system.
Try changing your settings.ini to
musicOn = 1
musicVolume = 1.0
and if music still doesn't play, please send me your output_log.txt, which you can find in MFEofW_Data

P.S. According to my statistics, at least 40 people have tried my 2 weeks old freak of a game :)

Just check at the settings, The music was turned off and the music volume was oddly at 0.1 which is strange cause i never touched the file straight off, changed them to 1 and 1.0, music works. i feel like a fool for not checking it earlier. Then again i never changed it to begin with.

Music off and volume at 0.1 is standard setting I've put in there.
README.txt also clearly says that it's there you should be looking for settings like this but I suppose no one ever reads readme's :grin:

Are you gonna add an ADS? I feel like that adds a lot to FPSes.

Ah, well i did read the read me but skip the setting part straight to the console and instructions. although in my Defence i kinda expected the sound and music to be on by default. regardless i apologise for being a idiot and not reading something very important.
I have found a weird texture problem though. at first being on fastest i thought it was just there to improve the performance but i swapped to fantastic and the texture problem is still there. now comparing the texture on my screen to the video they're quite "shiny"

Don't worry about it, thanks for reporting bugs and giving me the chance to fix them.

About the "shininess", it seems like your videocard doesn't support pixel shaders and the ones I'm using right now, don't work well as vertex shaders.
What's your graphics card?

Since i forgot how to view my system via my computer I'll End up using can you run it.

Although the shinyness doesn't effect my gameplay it can be annoying for other people with similar systems as myself.

GeForce 7600 GT is the video card I have.

That's very weird. GeForce 7 is supposed to support Shader Model 3 and my shaders doesn't use anything more complicated than SM2. You shouldn't be getting that "shininess".

Can you start the game, wait until it finishes loading, close it and upload output_log.txt from MFEotW_Data, please?

ADS = Aim down sights.
Not ADS = Hipfire like you have now.

ADS: bullets go exactly where you're pointing.
recoil
slower movement speed than hipfire
slower aim speed than hipfire

Hipfire: spread
easier to handle recoil
normal aim speed
normal movement speed

I guess it might take away from the retro feel a little bit but I think this simple mechanic adds a lot of depth.
