Post Re: Art Dump
Looks like lizzrd only upped the contrast and beat me to posting a fix (browser crashed and stuff).
Here's my edit which tries to keep a dusty atmosphere (and also changed the background hue to reflect that):

Here's more like what I would use though (couldn't be bothered to change bg colour again, I wouldn't have it as brown or green though as it affects readability of the units):

Though letting the computer change the colours is bad (well basically it won't fix any of your problems with your colour ramps unless they are perfect but all slightly too dark by the same amount for example), you could make it look much better by choosing all the colours by hand.

Yeah I made the mistake of spriting those on a white background and having a really pastel game BG which made them look like crap. Thanks for the edits, I'll take another stab at it when these assignments quite down..:/

It actually looks pretty nice IMO, specially with the increased contrast.

You planning on making that into a game or is it just a random mockup?

Planning on making a game in java with it after I get a bit more experienced. I want it to have kinda a dusty WWII with robots feel.
Also, dumb question but how did you go about making contrast changes? Cause I have no idea how other than by hand.

People here don't like MSPaint stuff here.
You should edit your post with something a bit more detailed and original.

I'd say low quality rather than MSPaint
If you are a good artist you are a good artist, the tool you use is pretty unimportant
I have seen very beautiful things made in MSPaint

Then do so. That's much better than it looks.

In other news, started a book. Or what I hope is going to be a book. It's about an insane man stuck on a boat in the middle of the ocean. I've got about thirty pages.

:)

Sounds like Life of Pi. Only without the tiger.
In all seriousness I look forward to reading it.

Does literature count as art for the purposes of this topic?
I was going to say your attempt to bring it back on topic in the second half of your post didn't work very well but I guess maybe I was wrong

Although you haven't posted any extracts ;)

Yeah I found Life of Pi kind of laborious. I thought the ending was neat though.
