 Re: Art Dump
Those are some pretty fancy graphics, I hope the networking is better than BYOND's because that is the main limitation there The communication between the server and the client is just so slow

That looks like something actually playable. Good work, hope this develops further.

 Re: Art Dump
A grungy portrait, intended to be some ageing rocker reflecting on life or something. Essentially a painting study. The hair was good fun. Ear's a bit low and big. Could have done with a bit less bloom on the light stuff in retrospect.

 Re: Art Dump
Threw out human based sidescroller for more of a 2d RTS vibe thing. UNIT MOCKUP GO! (Sorry its kinda small...) Also! The BG colors are going to change now that I've changed unit colors. Cause right now its realllly washed out.

 Re: Art Dump
It's not the BG colours that are causing it to look washed out, it's all your colours, no contrast broham everything tends towards grey you need to up the contrast and saturation.

 Re: Art Dump
Glowsticks, meet contrast. Far from perfect though, just a quick edit.

 Re: Art Dump
Looks like lizzrd only upped the contrast and beat me to posting a fix (browser crashed and stuff). Here's my edit which tries to keep a dusty atmosphere (and also changed the background hue to reflect that): Here's more like what I would use though (couldn't be bothered to change bg colour again, I wouldn't have it as brown or green though as it affects readability of the units): Though letting the computer change the colours is bad (well basically it won't fix any of your problems with your colour ramps unless they are perfect but all slightly too dark by the same amount for example), you could make it look much better by choosing all the colours by hand.

 Re: Art Dump
Yeah I made the mistake of spriting those on a white background and having a really pastel game BG which made them look like crap. Thanks for the edits, I'll take another stab at it when these assignments quite down..:/

 Re: Art Dump
It actually looks pretty nice IMO, specially with the increased contrast.
You planning on making that into a game or is it just a random mockup?

 Re: Art Dump
Planning on making a game in java with it after I get a bit more experienced. I want it to have kinda a dusty WWII with robots feel. Also, dumb question but how did you go about making contrast changes? Cause I have no idea how other than by hand.
