Interestingly enough, I've heard from everyone playing the console beta that it's spectacular, their only complaints being a few random glitches ie spawning in the middle of the ground and whatnot. I'm going to go play it at a friend's house later today actually and I'll give my take on it later.

Aye, but textures are toned down, and you can sometimes sink into the terrain mesh. I think I also observed a glitch where people emerged from walls.

With that said, it is a beta, so I'm sure most (if not all) of these issues will be resolved by release time, or patched later on.

Yes yes, of course. It's a good demo non-the-less.

Either I'm having very bad lag or UMP-45 is ridiculously overpowered.
I mean, what the ♥♥♥♥? Me and the other guy started firing at the same time, all my shots hit, 2 hits from the UMP-45 and I was dead.
And I had full health.
Either he got really lucky with 2 consecutive headshots or the gun is just teh sillies.
Also, I hate not being able to see my goddamn ping.

Just fooled around for a half hour or so, but I liked what I saw. Didn't really encounter any glitches other than the screen occasionally flashing green etc, mainly graphical bugs. The controls and animations feel very fluid and smooth, although the death animation looks a little strange. Also like how the RPGs seem to have relatively low splash damage as compared to other FPS games (I'm looking at you, CoD) as this prevents "noob tubing"; looks like rocket launchers are mainly going to be for anti-vehicle purposes, other than maybe breaching through a wall or taking out a hiding sniper. Major thumbs up from me so far.

Finally got it to work. Seems the same as older Battlefields (which I guess it should). Not really sure what I was expecting but eh still not really my cup of tea. I also have terrible lag/frame rate on my compy.

I'll probably force myself to play it more.

Do you guys recommend installing the beta drivers?

They also make BF3 run a lot better on your computer.

Do as you feel like.

Apparently there's a glitch going around which makes bullets do more damage to moving players. Kind of explain a lot.

Post Re: Battlefield 3
Just played a few matches, and goddamn I am a lot better at this than BC2.
The graphics are amazing, and I liked how they added small hints of realism in the game, I.E. no using AK's as an American unit. Unless you pick them up.
The movement is so fluid and fast paced. The teamwork required in battles is beautiful and I get teary eyed whenever I see two opposing teams behind cover and shooting at each other, except they are doing it together. One thing that irks me about CoD is that you can run around wherever the ♥♥♥♥ you want and do whatever and completely ignore the objective and do absolutely nothing productive for your team and STILL end up at the top of the scoreboard. That isn't right. But in BF3, you actually have to be helpful if you want to be the top of the board because kills are a lot harder to get than in CoD and you have to think tactically, not quickly.
I'm actually considering getting BF3 over MW3 this year, even though I'll probably get both anyway. :L

Yeah I've had some ♥♥♥♥ stupid deaths from 1-2 bullets. Average when it happens...

I like that I've been halfway up the scoreboard (~1300 points) with a 3:8 as my K:D just by spotting a bunch of enemies, offering supression, getting a few assists and generally harassing the other team.

Finally got defib.
Also had a few games with a "positive" (>1) K:D with mah SSVD78 or whatever and AR or SG rushes in the tunnels.

So I've been playing this for a few hours now and I have to say that I'm pretty impressed. Everything feels good and looks great! I've seen a bunch of glitches though like peoples pistols floating a foot behind their bodies or bodies stretching looking like aliens or something when going prone. I've seen a ton of flickering, but I read that that's supposed to be a problem with the game and not my hardware.

The only real problem so far is that the game will just close with no warning whatsoever. It's completely random and really sucks when I've got a good match going and then it shuts down halfway through.

Also, I hate having to use my browser to pick servers. That ♥♥♥♥ should be in-game...

There's a certain music that starts playing when the match is about to end (3-2 tickets left).
