Re: The Lounge
bahaha
Also Miggles I'm not US based, so the "our country" etc don't apply, but I see what you're saying. I don't think it's a fault with the concept of money, it's a fault with greedy people when they can get their hands on wealth.
It's always seemed like less of the US tax dollar should be spent on guns et al. for the military and more of it spent on health, education and welfare systems, so people wouldn't die of the common cold or proclaim a holy war on the infidels or starve to death from poverty. It'd be a logistics nightmare to work out where and how to make those changes, but it sure seems like they need to be made at some point.

Unless of course you mean selecting your options in your tenth year of education. This. In my school, we got to choose which Technology (Electronics, Food Tech, Textiles, Resistant Materials ('Woodshop')) subjects to do in Year 9, but it wasn't necessary to take them in Year 10 for GCSE's. For Reception to Year 8, all subjects are mandatory. For Year 10 and 11, as well as having the mandatory English, Maths, Science and Religious Education, you choose ~4 options (number is different in different schools). In some schools they are anything, but in others you must choose a language, must choose a technology, must choose a history/geography. After Year 11, when you get your GCSE's, mandatory education is done with. At college, you need Key Skills English and Maths (GCSE level, if you didn't already have it), and any subjects are game.

Re: The Lounge
Maybe "many" was the wrong word. That said, none of the enormous amount of countries listed so far (read: 2) are/were recently socialist anyhow.

Re: The Lounge
@Geti I know you aren't. I wasn't referring to 'our' as 'you and me vs the world getiman'. 'Our' as in the country I and a lot of other members live in. That said however, I always knew you weren't a US citizen, but I never knew where you lived. Where DO you live?

Re: The Lounge
It just got out of control.
Now, well, let's talk about something else.
Let's talk about... Diarrhea.
Does someone know what should I eat to get better? Aside from taking a lot of water/tea, eating bananas, almost burnt toasts, yoghurt and rice, which thing is good for it?

Re: The Lounge
I usually drink a lot of water, sleep, and don't eat anything 'till I feel better.

Does it help to cure faster? Or it helps in not getting it worse?

Re: The Lounge
The latter. You'll usually recover after a few hours or a good night's rest at most.
