Cosmopolitan: Yes, please.

Secular: Religion's place in politics would only be to give politicians a decent sense of morality (because, y'know, they have no souls) I don't think one can necessarily use religious laws in a cosmopolitan nation; I wouldn't mandate unified religious beliefs.

Visionary/Reactionary: I'd have to say that this is really situational, I'm pretty much neutral on the subject.

Authoritarian: Humans are too stupid to rule themselves, but full-out authoritarianism will only degrade into miserable conditions with a corrupt government.

Communistic: Free trade is fine and dandy, but capitalism often leads to pretty big class divisions that are hard to maneuver between. A person born to poor parents is likely to be poor himself; a trust-fund baby may never work a day in his life and could buy the entire poor person's neighborhood. I'm not saying there shouldn't be any differences in wealth between people, just not as many super-rich people; the wealth that they would have owned in an capitalistic society would go towards preventing poverty.

Militaristic: That came out a lot higher than I thought it would. War is often stupid and I wouldn't advocate any blitzkriegs, or any fighting for the sake of fighting; this is more of a self-defense/secure-your-borders type of militarism.

Anthropocentric: I actually think the environment is incredibly important, and it's possible for everyone to be eco-friendly without very much effort if society as a whole shifts towards more conservative tendencies.

Despite me being an "authoritarian Solidarist", I think you could sum up my views as "like communism minus the nationalistic fervor."

You are a Liberal. 4 percent of the test participators are in the same category and 19 percent are more extremist than you.

I'm not sure they're using the same definition of Liberal that I am.

Cosmopolitan: Sure, I guess. I have patriotism, but I don't believe in exclusion based on race or nationality, so that makes me a cosmopolitan?

Secular: Absolutely. Doesn't surprise me at all. I'm an Agnostic Deist by my own choice, even though I was raised Catholic, and while I believe that religion can be good for people who lack direction in life, and gives people clear moral guidelines, I don't think it should have any place in the government.

Visionary: Uh, sure?

Anarchistic: Yup, I'll agree with that. While I don't think there should be a complete abolition of national government, I think the government's role should be doing 3 basic things. Protecting the basic human rights and property laws, preventing massive monopolies from existing, and national defense for their citizens.

Capitalistic: Yet again, agreed. I'll acknowledge that a capitalist society has its shortcomings, but I think compared to other available economic systems, capitalism wins. Yes, there will be economic class gaps, but that's going to happen no matter what happens. Poverty will always exist, and I'd rather have the opportunity, however slim, to rise above that poverty by my own work, rather than being given the same wage as everyone else, regardless of job, importance, or effort put into it.

Militaristic: Mmhmm. I'm not advocating war, but I don't think you should let people trample over your country because you don't want to offend anyone.

Anthropocentric: Sha. Resources are there to be used. If they're limited, then we do 2 things. Make the most efficient use of those resources, and then figure out ways around it when they run out. If they're reusable/renewable, then you damn well better plant some trees after you're done clearing the forest.

Cosmopolitan? Not necessarily, I'm just not a nationalist nutjob.
Secular? Definitely. Religion has only slowed down our evolution.
Visionary? I try to analyze what's going to happen all the time, so yeah.
Anarchistic? We deserve a little freedom. Just not too much.
Communistic? Yes, a million times
Neutral when it comes to militarism/pacifism
I'm not anthropocentric.

This was with the short version, later I'll do the longer one and check what's up with it.

Well, I did the longer one and results came a bit more different.

I think I'm somewhere in the middle, like, enough authoritarism to keep the order, but not enough to become a totalitarist.

Keep religion for the moral values, that's the important part of it. I don't really care if they believe or not in god, as long they have good ethics that shouldn't be a problem.

Cosmopolitan FTW. We are just one huge family, we are humans, not countries.

Well, the anthropocentric part... We can't just throw away all our technological and scientific progress to save the planet, because we would probably be screwed. We just need to change all this stuff with time, there is no need to ♥♥♥♥ everything up now. We just need to develop more eco-friendly stuff and all that.

This was a pretty interesting test.

Some of those questions are really poorly worded. I have to assume they were translated from German.

"You are a cosmopolitan Social Democrat. 15 percent of the test participators are in the same category and 61 percent are more extremist than you."

Cosmopolitan: Pretty neutral on this, but it's probably right that I'm closer to cosmopolitan. I'm not really into the whole patriotism thing. I think there are upsides and downsides to having a lot of immigrants (and we do have a lot of them in Canada).

Secular: As you can see, this is probably my most extreme belief (although that's not really saying much, I'm kind of a fence-sitter on most issues). I have no qualms with other people having their religions as long as they aren't trying to force it on everyone else.

Visionary: I think some things need to change, but I don't think doing so radically is a very good idea, either. There's a lot of movements that seem to be constantly demanding immediate change (issues with global warming and oil, etc) that I think would gain a lot more ground and benefit a lot more people if we could just calm the hell down about it and think things through before flipping everything on its head. Still, though, there's definitely some issues with how society is running itself, and the only way to fix that is to make some changes.

Anarchistic: Not sure if that really describes me, although I guess this particular scale is pretty polar (most people wouldn't describe themselves as "anarchistic" or "authoritarian"). In my opinion, government intervention makes sense in some cases and not in others. It should be up to the people as a whole to decided when the government gets to intervene, though. I don't really think the government needs to be constantly watching over people, be it in public or in private, unless they have a specific reason to.

Communistic: I actually have no idea how it ranked me as communistic. As far as I'm concerned, communism has one particularly big flaw: it's designed to benefit the people as a whole, but somewhat ironically relies on individuals to cooperate. If a single person doesn't feel like going along with it, the whole thing falls apart. That isn't to say that communism isn't a great idea, it just doesn't seem to work in practice. That said, capitalism isn't working out terribly well for us right now, either. Even so, most of the world relies on capitalism right now, and reversing that right now would probably be a bad idea (see my views on radicalism). I'll be honest, too: I've been middle-class all my life, and I'd probably have very different views on this if I didn't have any money to spend.

Pacifist: Ultimately, fighting is more or less inevitable. People just seem to be inclined to do it. I don't think it really solves anything - it just redistributes problems - but that could be said of pretty much any form of problem "solving". I think that if there's another way of solving things, that we should give that a try first, and that's how I personally act. If there's really no other choice, though (and, like I said, that point is almost guaranteed to come), fighting it out is better than ignoring the problem purely for the sake of pacifism.

Anthropocentric: Humans are self-centric. Honestly, though, there isn't a species on this planet that doesn't fall under that category to some extent. If we weren't self-interested, we wouldn't be here right now. I don't think we need to destroy nature entirely out of our own interest, but as a species, we do need to keep our own well-being in mind. Abandoning what we have so we can save the environment is a terrible idea when we can just as easily refine our technology to have less of an impact. Also, I have nothing against the cow that died so I could eat a steak (in fact, thanks, Mrs. Cow - it was delicious). I just think that, if the cow thought I was delicious and it was hungry, it would probably do the same. That's life.

I got bored and decided to reinstall Democracy 2.
Image
I'm in my 3rd term, and I'm probably going to reelected due to the fact the US does no longer have a debt, has a improved social welfare system and a booming economy.

Damn I'm good.

EDIT : I raised the term cap to a lot higher. It is now my 4th term. There is 10 trillion in the reserves, the environmentalists hate me, as do the socialists (Can't please em. )

But no one hates me more then the liberals. They have attempted a assassination attempt a month ago.

They forced my hand.
Image

EDIT EDIT : Apparently they people love the police state. I just won a another election in a landslide.
Image

EDIT EDIT EDIT : A quadrillion is now in the national reserves. With this much money to throw away, I've done something most would not expect.

A capitalist utopia.
