the satellite isn't taking pictures with a DSLR, bro

it's collecting wavelengths in different sensors, most likely red green and blue in order to easily mock up a completed image

the combination of the satellite's velocity (several thousand miles per hour) and the plane's ground velocity (and an inattentive screener at keyhole HQ) results in a distorted frame getting put into the google earth/maps database.

basically, the satellite has a blue camera, then a green camera, then a red camera, which don't fire exactly simultaneously
