sorry about the silly post title... but in all honesty I think that perhaps the campaign could benefit from being be more base management-like and geoscape - like.
  • base modules are just same as in CC only they get built in x-com way.
  • when attacked layout is same as when managing
  • can buy dropships and stuff
  • go out on gold mining operations/invasions
  • buy from tradestar/sell to tradestar
  • organise dropships before you battle, then organise individual soldiers.
  • Cortex-Pedia entries on weapons, soldiers, organisations etc.
  • research new weapons/ design your own?
  • and much more probably

yeah ... and maybe after winning a whole new gametype is unlocked where you can go to other planets and stuff in a spaceship... isn't CC meant to have many alien races?

It is, although none of them have been made yet, and I dont think its even possible to make anything that doesnt look humanoid besides crabs (they are cute and useless) anyways I would love to be able to make my own guns on the fly that would be awsome and would require some serious engine changes. Sadly probably will never happen,

yeah... making your own guns ingame... perhaps borderlands style, (where the different parts are randomised)...only for this you'd choose the parts... that way you could make a sniper that shoots whatever...bricks or you could make it use shotgun shells.. or a homing sniper..... or a shotgun that fires loads of little harpoons with wires attached...
I think Cortex Command needs to be WAY more interactive.....

More...interactive? Are you aware of what that word means? You control just about every aspect of the gameplay, short of the terrain (which still can be destroyed) and AI, and you can even change those if you want to learn coding. You build your own base, order your own actors, with a loadout you choose, then you can wreck havoc and death upon everything, including the terrain. If that isn't considered interactive, I'm not sure what is.
What exactly are you trying to convey with the word "interactive"? Because you need to find a better word.

Fun fact! You can do all of that, except maybe the shitload of harpoons with wires attached. It just requires a little bit of knowledge. Want a sniper with homing bullets? Either download a mod, of which there are plenty, or learn a little bit of Lua.

ohno dont get me wrong i have downloaded many a mod for this game.... it's just it gets sort of convoluted with so many... many of them being unbalanced and terrain raping...
well perhaps i mean more user friendly interactivity.... like in-game creation rather than coding and sprite making? I really really like this game... it just feels rather broken... i'ts interactive but only in certain ways... physics wise the game is great.. the whole original concept and story is good too. the gameplay however isn't so great for the average gamer. :) I think you should have the option for the wreaking havok and death, but i think you should have the option for strategy too... the whole point of mentioning x-com was kinda saying that. (i guess?) being able to keep your units alive would be much better.... i hate it in games where theres a "disposable' attitude to everything... i kinda like trying to keep stuff and upgrading it and.blah blah.. what am i even saying?
basically i think there should be a crazy destroying everything loads of explosions and terrain rape mode and a more strategic mode..... everyone wins then :grin:
