caekdaemon

You crawl over to the gem and touch it, centering your thoughts on metal men. The Glyph pushes aside your thoughts like one would swat a fly, leaving you wondering what you were thinking of, and then drops off something alien in your head.

You awake from your coma-like state to find that you feel... odd. You suddenly find yourself... floating. You feel... inflated. And a bit queasy. You yawn, losing your floaty state, and hitting the ground rather unceremoniously on your bum. Ow.

Gained Chaotic Mass Alteration. (This ability allows you to alter the mass of almost anything. It can be used in many ways that you will have to discover for yourself. The ability can only be used on objects at a short distance, and is more effective on touch. However, the effect can last for a long time even after the object has left your range. Just be careful you don't overdo it... or you'll find yourself hurtling towards the atmosphere.)

Ociamarru

You saunter over and put your hand on the Glyph. Immediately, you feel strangely weightless and everything around you fades as if you're losing focus on the real world. After a moment, it returns, and you feel as if you possess something you didn't have before.

Gillian's animated rock decides to pester you. It buzzes around your head like a bug, making you dizzy. You get annoyed at the thing and try to swat it out of the air. No luck - it's too fast.

But then... it slows down... to a crawl... and for some reason everything seems oddly silent. You reach forward and pluck it out of the air easily, then you feel a whoosh of air as a breeze hits your back. Everything is normal again. Hm.

Gained Chaotic Temporal Control. (This skill lets you control time itself. It is a dangerous ability to have if you screw up, and the fact that it is so unpredictable doesn't help at all. But, used correctly, this amazing ability can work wonders, slowing the passage of time so that you may have more of it, or turning back the clock for those whose time has almost run out.... This wondrous thing is not a gift - it is a burden. For this ability will tempt you to abuse it... and it may cost you your life. Do not make any mistakes that cannot be reversed.)

CaveCricket

You touch it, hoping for skill involving the elements. But the Glyph doesn't seem to want to play by your rules. It thrusts an ability into your consciousness and leaves.

You wake up. The world is a lot... bigger. And is composed of... hexagons. You take a look at yourself, and find that you are looking at a hexagonal mesh displaying thin, hairy, wiry legs.

"I'm a... BUG?! AHHHHH!!"

That is in fact what you say, but to the average human it comes out as a series of strange buzzing sounds. A second later you bounce up from the ground, back in your original shape. You hug yourself and swear that you'll never depreciate being human ever again.

Gained Chaotic Shapeshifting. (You can turn into many, many different things. However, becoming insanely large or the size of an atom... is not possible. Other than that, your only limit is your imagination! Also... it is recommended you wade into a pool of water before thinking of fried fish. You know. Just in case.)

Tokochiro

You touch the Glyph, and you can't help feeling like you're playing in the lottery or something.

When you touch it, you find that whatever excitement felt flushed away, and it is replaced by a blank slate of thought. The Glyph then drops a little package into the blankness, and you awake into the real world again.

You take a look around. There are several more of you. They all look exactly alike. They're... you. Okay, that's just annoying. And scary. With a thought, you will them away into nothingness. One of them stays, with an angry look on his face, then fades away into the air. He's going to be trouble.

Gained Chaotic Cloning. (Now you can be in many places at once! Only trouble is the fact that multiple you's cannot exist too far away from... you. However, they will fight for you, and having that extra manpower can help a lot in a fight. Let's just hope they listen...)

Adam

You lay hands on the Glyph, and power rushes through you. You can't tell exactly what it is, but pretty soon you're feeling dazed, and you don't remember falling on the ground. You get up slowly and sit still. You're by the side of the lake. How did you get over there? You don't feel like walking back to the group....

Suddenly, you're among them. Hey! Did you just... yes you did! Teleportation WOOH!

Then you're in a tree. Upside down. Dangling by your legs. Oh, that's very nice you stupid Glyph.

Gained Chaotic Teleportation. (This one is pretty much a DUH kind of power. You can teleport. It is also possible to teleport other people and objects, putting them in very bad places. Teleporting someone above a pool is the perfect practical joke, and teleporting someone into a pit of spikes is the perfect method for annihilating your enemies. But it may not always come out the way you want it to, so beware.)

The Glyph turns to shiny red dust and floats away on the wind, slowly disappearing into nothing.
"Well, it seems all of you have gained your new powers. I hope that they serve you well... rather than bringing your doom. Which they very well may."

"ANYWAY. The next part of the riddle that you must follow in order to fulfill your destinies is within this shrine. I would have opened it for you... but it seems you found a more... creative way to access it."

Calkoom gestures to the smashed-apart statue. Everyone stares at Nikolai. He sways nervously from side to side.

"No matter. Here is the next part of the prophecy."

A scroll floats up from the debris scattered about on the shrine, and finds its way into Gabriel's waiting hands. He opens it and begins reading aloud.

"Seek the wind, from where the breeze
Emanates and utters forth.
Travel there, go to see
The beginning of the journey North.
By the end of its trip the gale is spent
Yet still it smells of... condiments?"

Gabriel stops. Everyone stares at him, urging him to continue.
"Sorry," he says. "It's just... whoever wrote this was nuts. Moving on!"

"Seek this place, and then Hell's ice
Only to find paradise."

No one says a thing. A cold breeze drifts over the area, pushing aside the fog.

"Well then, that is all I can do for you."

"Oh. Wait. I can also fix all the bones I broke and such. Heh. Sorry about that."

Calkoom's wing seems to overshadow the entire area, and everything becomes dark and warm. When he raises it, the party is standing, in perfect condition, on the shore.

"I bid you good luck on your journey. After all, my own existence depends on Illusia's peace. Farewell!"
Without another word, he vanishes soundlessly into the mist. Gabriel turns to the Six.

"Back to Auid for now, I guess. Or do you guys have any better ideas?"

Continue along Auid, and see what happens if I attempt to accelerate time VERY rapidly on the next rodent I see.

caekdaemon said something about not being here an entire week... dunno if he's left yet. Besides that, we're just waiting on Adam.

Alright - since caekdaemon has NOT posted, I assume that he is going to be missing for a week. We will resume at that time, I guess.

Just NPC him, oh great one! I figure a week's what, three or four rolls? One or two o' those would be going to Auid, and I'm sure the rest would just be mingling there.

Ocia, calm down. With the pace most people roll, it's one or two rolls.
