Blue shouts as one of the smaller flankers lunges at them in a feint, only to pull back at the last moment. "They're trying to get us on edge. We need to separate them- an explosive attack of some kind that'll send them all flying away. Then, while they're stunned, we gang up on one, take him out, and deal with the other two." Blue Demon nods her approval of this plan. "Alright, sounds good. Do you have any attacks like that? Because I don't." Die sighs. "I was kind of hoping you would, but I guess there is something I could do... hm. Alright, duck.""Quack?""No, I mean, GET DOWN!" Die says in exasperation as her fiery chains appear in her hands.
As the group makes its way down the path in near total darkness, wary of ambushes and doing their best to keep an eye out for any enemies. After a few minutes of stumbling, they notice the trees rapidly thinning, until they reach a gateway of sorts- a large man-made arch constructed of an enormous bent tree branch and covered in vines and creepers. Ahead, they can see some dim lights and what appears to be another thicket of trees, with dark, round shapes in their branches- tree houses. The village is an enormous circle measuring at least two kilometers in diameter. And at the very center-
"Holy crap.""Damn.""Is that-?""It's huge!""Whoa.""...""Well, what're we waiting for? Let's go!" In hushed awe, the group begins to walk towards the Tree, clearly visible even in the dark. A gigantic silhouette, the Tree seems to be roughly 20 meters wide from their standpoint, and it arches up into the sky for at least 200 meters or more, impressing on them just how deep the valley is and how dense the surrounding protective forests are. They've hardly taken a step before three things happen in very quick succession: First, a volley of spears erupts from the darkness, causing everyone to shout and scramble; second, they hear screams of pain and surprise coming from ahead of them; and third, gunshots begin to ring out in every direction. The night is lit up by muzzle flashes, tracers, and explosions as opposing forces close in on the village from every direction. "Stand your ground and ATTACK! This is it!"
